who upgrades front springs with 5100

    i was looking through toy tecs website and see 2 complete 5100 kits.. one re uses factory springs and the other utilizes toy tec/eibach coil springs..

    what would be the benifiet of the new coil springs??
    i plan on setting the 5100 at 1.75. not sure if that makes an difference..

    thanks in advance for any help

    The eibach springs give 1.6" of lift. The consensus is that the eibachs @ zero give a better ride than the stock coils at 1.75"

    so set the 5100 at zero with the eibach springs..

    is the ride worth the extra 300 bucks in your opinion..

    the truck is not doing any heavy off road.. really im just adding the rear aal and just want to level everything out with a better stance..

    i will just be doing the 5100 and an aal and 5100 in the rear.. with 1.75 lift or 1.60 if i go with the eibach springs i shold have no other problems or need other parts.. stock brake lines and control arms should suffice. and i will not go with a diff drop or anything like that

    Alpine deck and amp, Polk speakers front and rear, Kenwood subwoofer, windows tinted to 20%, Sockmonkey decals, TSB, Eibach springs and Bilstein 5100's
    I put in the Eibach's with 5100's set to zero, and a 1/4" spacer on the drivers side. My truck feels a lot better than it did stock, smoother on the highway and smoother on New England's pot hole filled back roads. I've done a little light off roading with no problems. I also have the rear TSB. Truck sits almost level. I'd go this route unless price is an issue. I've never heard anyone say bad things about the 5100's at 1.75, but I've heard you get a better ride and put less stress on the suspension with the Eibach's. Hope this helps you decide.

    100% agree. I have same setup (on prerunner) as oldtacomaguy, but you won't go wrong with 5100's and stock coils either. The Eibachs are $150.00 more.

    ya price is 650 with the eibach coils.. if i were to save a couple more hundred i could get a set or coilovers for it.. but thats just overkill for me

    so the way i understand it is lift wise you will come out the same but if you go with the eibach springs you will have more travel that if stayed with the stock springs.. but either the 5100 or the 5100 w/eibach springs gives you a better ride and more travel than stock..am i correct by saying that??

    stock< 5100s < 5100s w/eibach springs

    i just dont wanna spend the 300 on the 5100s set the at 1.75 and end up worse than stock.. i just dont wanna spend the 650 to get the springs too lol..

    this kit comes with the 1.6" Eibach springs. I believe the other kit you are looking at comes with the Eibachs that are flat on both ends and not as long. This one is meant to be used with the toytec adjustable collar and 5100's. Hope that helps.

    I think you might get a better ride setting the 5100's at the .85" setting with the 1.6" Eibachs. Puts you at roughly 2.5" Then you can use 1/2" spacer drivers side and 1/4" passenger to be a hair under 3". If you do the 1.6" Eibach wth the 5100's at 1.75 you'll be around 3.3" maxing out the stock ucas and will most likely encounter a rougher ride.
