Last week my truck also went out of the car wash rail. It went up to the side and the steering wheel turned to the left for few seconds and then went back in and kept going. I freaked out, but thank god nothing happened. I m not a fan of these automatic car wash but they opened a new one close to my house and it does a good job and pretty convenient for the winter salt.
Sorry about that bro. The roof part is pretty bad.

Small Claims Court is your friend (but takes time and effort), $10k max claim so you should be good under that limit, assuming you don't need a whole new cab

I asked my insurance company and because im a Diamond Member with a clean record i have minor and large accident forgiveness which i guess will help... My thoughts exactly on the damages part but i just want to get this taken care of, im talking to one of my fire buddies that has his own body shop and does good work to get me an estimate too. Just so i have some paperwork to show insurance that i have done leg work. insurances nearest shop that does repairs and all the paperwork is over 2 hours away from me.

Body work is stupid expensive, i would guess minimum of $5k, probably closer to $7k

My uncles owned a body shop when I was growing up, but I'd guess that's easily 30+ man hours + Parts.

It should be your insurance vs that car wash owner insurance. It they can proof that it's not your fault his insurance suppose to pay you. He has to have this place insured.
IMO your roof damage over the doors is the hardest part to fix since it is pressing on the doors. From the pics I noticed that they are malalligned

    This.

Did you get his insurance information? Hopefully you just didn't give him yours. I would file a claim with his insurance and don't include the owner on the call or meetings. It's similar to a hit and run case. Of course he's going to fight with you over having it submitted. It's possible he's had this happen before and will lose his insurance or something.

I never gave him my insurance information. I did inform my insurance that his machine was damaged in this. I never got his insurance information but i dont think it would be that hard to get it

That should have been step #1. Get their info and file a claim. Don't process with your insurance until you file with his. Then your insurance fights for you. That's what you pay them for and they definitely want to fight so they don't have to pay your costs.

I just went out to verify on mine. I knew you could go to drive from neutral without touching the brakes but didn't think you could in reverse. I was wrong in my thinking. You CAN bump to reverse in neutral without braking. Sorry about the truck.

Sounds like this is a faulty car wash. Like others have said let your insurance fight for you because this is gonna be expensive and don't admit fault

Yep. I don't use the drive in washes but with this new info I HIGHLY recommend you shut off the rig in neutral if you do.

Not possible to give you a very accurate estimate based on those few pics. Labor rates vary across the country as well. I wouldn't get too hung up on Guys on here quoting you 3k or 7k or whatever.
