Make that 46.00 I don't write a lot of stuff in Dallas, just checked it again. We are 50.00 out here in rural areas though.

The question remains from me. What is the labor rate in OP's Area?

Sometimes I get stuck in CA costs. At $50/55 an hour, I can't imagine OPs truck being totaled out unless it's super high mileage.

Sorry to be a California Dick for a minute. :anonymous:

Don't worry, it happens. I promise I was just trying to help.

Also, CA has some special rules for totals due to the high rates or so I think I remember from training that was forever ago.

I just don't see that here.... more pics could change my opinion, but I'm thinking under 6k on OP's truck.

At that labor rate, agreed, maybe closer to 5k even.

Labor effectively killed my repair option. No complaints though, I got a kings ransom for it and upgraded.

There is NO WAY any business would tell you he's not coming after you for damages if he thought it was your fault. He damn well knows that HIS insurance HAS to cover this unless we're not getting the full story about what happened.

I had something similar happen to me in a car wash years ago. I drove into one of those do-it-yourself spray bays. The hose comes out of the ceiling and was hanging lower than it should have been but I on the other hand should have noticed it. The hose was encased in metal and it ripped a gouge in the roof of my F-150....the car wash owner's insurance covered it no questions asked.

Don't want to derail but have a link to your bad luck? Sucks for anyone, I know.

I have a friend who takes her car to these crappy places. Refuses to go anywhere else because at the end, they wipe down your door sill :| She got a new Nissan Rogue and the wheel clamps scratched the hell out of her rims. I go to the one across the street that's touchless and it works just fine in the winter to keep the salt away.

Ok, Here is some wisdom... take it or leave it.....

Best option for OP is to contact his insurance company and have them go after the carwash for damages through subrogation. It will be the quickest way to get the truck fixed and will let the insurance company handle everything else. It's what you pay insurance for.
