ok so i go to the park for a couple hours with littleman and now yall are telling me it might be totaled... if thats the case im keeping it and ill figure something out or leave the dents and protect it from rust... Im dropping it off with Toyota on tuesday for my recall and they are going to assess the damage and work with progressive. To clear up a few things. Doors have no damage and close as they should. The denting are between the roof rubber to the top of the door. there are a few places that creased but seems to be able to be fixed. Front fender im not worried about that much just because its a scuff. as far as the picture on the previous page for parts it looks like top of 16 19 and 11, mirror and a tailgate. As far as why i jumped on insurance so quick is i want to get it taken care of. I dont want to argue with the guy for weeks.(did that with my white truck and dont feel like doing that crap again, i pay for insurance for a reason) I gave my insurance adjuster the information of the carwash and the managers name and he is calling him. The insurance adjuster wants to look at the tape as well. So this is where im currently at.

Sounds like you are following the path that will get this resolved the quickest. I hope everything goes well.

Sweet Jesus a car wash did all of that damage?! Looks like a rollover. That's likely going to run north of 10k in damage if not totaled.

Someone didn't read the prior pages...

Edit: sorry to be salty about it, but 10k is a bit of a stretch.

I think the car wash should be responsible unless camera recordings were very obvious that it was your fault. As far as I remember they have warining signs at these places that they are not responsible if antennas, mirrors, or loose parts get damaged. But not to ruin a car totally like what it did to ur truck. Also they warn trucks owners not to leave things in the beds. Few years ago my sis in laws car got damaged when a bucket from a truck ahead of her flew and hit her car. I think the car wash took care of it ( I ll double check with her and get back to you) but it was definitely not her insurance.
And you are right, let the insurance companies fight it. That's why you are paying them.

I agree. Maybe closer to 8k. Two weeks in the shop too.

Depending on your mileage and the current value, that doesn't look like enough damage to total it. These trucks hold their value pretty well. It looks like about 2 weeks in the shop. If there is any minor damage you're willing to live with, ask your adjuster about a cash allowance and they should be able to lower your deductible.

ya i told them im not really concerned about the rain gaurds or bug guard, The bed cover never sealed right anyway so im not too concerned about that either so ill see what allowance i can get for that. also the truck has 136000 miles on it. I had one of my friends that has a bodyshop (but way behind on work) look at my truck. he said if they try and total it to go see him and he will get it fixed. (just may take me a month or two to get it in the shop.) He couldnt see it till today, but told me that the creases werent crimped enough to have to cut much if any at all.

This is a big reason why i go through those touchless car wash machines without the "spaghetti monster".

Truck is at Toyota, Leaf spring recall is done. Truck is now at the Toyota Collision center. My insurance has talked to the carwash and they are working through that, she wasnt able to give me any information at this time on this. Should know information on the damages and how long today or tomorrow. My Claim rep. is going over to the toyota dealership this afternoon to look at the damage/

Alright So just got the estimate from toyota and Progressive. Not as bad as i think everyone thought.

Here are parts and major hours... (i didnt include the weather strip removal for paint and replace, molding remove for pain ect.)

    NOT TOTALED!

    Front fender:

    Refinsh

    Cab
Lcab door openings, Complete finish 5.2 Hours
L Cab Hinge Pillar- Repair 4.0 Hours
L Cab Center Pillar- Repair 6.0 Hours
L Cab Corner Panel- Repair 10 Hours

Front door- Refinish and repaint 1.7

    Mirror-- 131.25 .3 Hours

    Tailgate 2.3 hours

Tailgate Shell-- 441.00 Toyota Certified AM part
    Tailgate Protector-- 150
Tailgate adhesive (toyota, SR5, Tacoma) --93.98

    Hazardous waste disposal.. $3
    Paint and materials-- $417

    Car cover for overspray $8
    Corrosion protection $15

Total with Hours of labor,Parts, Paint and repair included>
    3461.31
    Hours of labor-- 46.4
    Price per hour-- 44.00

Now This is from progressive so Toyota will come back to them with a counter offer im sure but the guy at toyota called just a bit ago and said they had gone over things like hours, and price of parts/labor per hour. So we will see if it comes back about the same.

They told me if everything goes well today with this they will start tomorrow and should have my truck back by the 7th of March.. Ill keep everyone updated as i know anything.. Currently im driving my FIL silverado. So i still have a truck but the thing needs work. Im going to do a tune up on it for him since hes letting me borrow it. (the guy that had it before him treated it like crap and FIL hasnt had time to do much on it.)

Because they are repairing rather than replacing. Which means cheap but likely to be sub par quality. Paint will probably crack from bondo sculpting over time.

If I was OP I'd sell it the moment I got it back from the shop. I'm paranoid about rust and paint failures though.
