Running spacer with no issues. Keeps the factory shocks so ride is the same. Im just not into over buying. Spacers up front and TSB on leafpack. 90 percent on pavement.

you will 100% of the time EVERY time get a stiffer ride from adding coil spacers.other than a really stiff, shitty ride I didnt have any problems.

why put a low quality part on a brand new truck, OP?

Why are we talking about spacer lifts? Didnt he say leveling? Is this what he means??

    http://www.hellbentsteel.com/produc...0-toyota-tacoma-2wd-4wd-2-5-leveling-kit.html

Cause I cant imagine that added on top of the factory assembly and sandwiched in would make it ride like crap.

When I think of how my buddies 1st gen rode after one of those aluminum spacer lifts though I see your point. Springs were so compromised in that thing it after the install and it rode like garbage.

If your springs compress you would not get lift. Guarented to keep factory ride and lifetime warrenty. To each his own. He said he isnt going off road much

    That is a spacer lift.

As was already noted on page 1, there are two type of spacer lift kits:

    1. Ones that make your ride crappy
    2. Ones that don't make your ride crappy, but destroy your ball joints.

The link you posted is to the second type of spacer lift.

How is a spacer any worse than an extended length coil over, both result in a longer coil over, while the rest of your suspension remains the same, I can understand bottoming out the shock, but how would they cause extra ball joint wear?

I've put 100k miles on my spacer lift on my Titan, without a single problem, or the least bit of change in ride quality, wouldnt think twice about putting one on the Tacoma.

When people run extended travel coilovers, they also pair them with uniball UCA's, which allow for the ball joint in the UCA to not be the limiting factor on down travel (which would lead to binding).

If I was doing a lot of off-roading that put some serious stress on my truck I would definitely do a "proper" suspension lift, but being that for the most part i'm on road, highway, and going from job site to job site, occasionally hopping over a curb, going through a ditch, or something of the sort. I wanted the extra clearance and larger tires because honestly I like the look, but I just don't do enough hard off-road driving or anything that pushes my shocks/springs to their limits to justify the expense of a true off-road suspension set-up.
