Why did Toyota discontinue Inferno Tacoma's

Just a quick question but why did they discontinue the Inferno Taco. I really like the color and I'm interested why they got rid of it.

My local dealer has an Inferno AC SR5 that's been there forever. I bet if it was white or silver it would have been gone.

Not a good looking color IMO

After I bought my 2018 inferno I wrote corporate and asked for it to be discontinued to keep the inferno values in the coming years. Request granted, discontinued.

 

I'm sure it had everything to do with money and sales.

 

It's also likely the Inferno's were running over a lot more deer on the roads...

 

Jeep was honest and called it "Pumpkin".

 

probably the same reason you could buy a Radiant Red Tundra YEARS after they discontinued the color on Tacomas... a corporate wonk made the decision for no damn good reason.

 

I like the idea of limited edition colors. It wasn't the color for me (I'm boring) but I can appreciate it.

 

I like colors that are generally considered fringe and ugly. Keeps the car rare.
I have a 1991 BMW convertible that has mtechnic fabric seats... They are purple blue and orange striped on gray background... Super ugly, but it's 1 of 18 in the world

Simply was not selling at the same rate.
Whatever real smart person above who was talking about the radiant red being discontinued on one vehicle and not the other? Listen up... People like different colors on different cars. It's not the color, it's the color on that specific vehicle.

 

Radiant red really should come back. Barcelona red just looks like a color an older woman named Bonnie would buy. Bonnie is a dog mom, but she's in her late 40's and is an avid watcher of HGTV for the wrong reasons. She's not in it for the tiled back splashes, she's already tackled that project with the helpful folks at Home Depot. She's in it for the hunks.

 

The problem is there are more "Bonnies" than there are people like you who want that color on that vehicle.
I and about four other people like green. I understand that not everyone is like me.

 

Lighten up Bonnie, everyone knows that Super White is the best color
