I've had a set in my closet that I bought with my SR, I think this spring they're finally going on.

Would a competent tire installer be able to work around pre-installed rings, or keep them off until after the tires are on?

Funny story, years ago, working in a tire shop, had a Ferrari F50 customer bring in his track day wheels for new tires. Found out the hard way, he had real bead locks that screw into the bead. $1000 magnesium wheel snapped in half with him standing 10 ft away watching.

The factory instructions is tire on wheel, then ring, then balance.

Why don't you see them on newer Tacomas? Because it's dead tech that has expired it's life expectancy at this stage.

I got mine did rings on. Worst case, you replace the rings. You’ve been sitting on a set of these and haven’t put them on?

actually I take that back. My memory wonked out. They installed tires in 20 minutes and then took 2 hours to get the rings on. Lotta hardware.

Not sure if you mean the 4-Runner Pro wheels, or the Tacoma Pro wheels. I like the 4-Runner version a lot, but it's been done too much.

If they made a 17-inch version of the 2020 Tacoma Pro wheels, I'd throw money at the seller without even looking at the price.

Yeah, they've been taking up closet space all these years.
I was going to install them w/ the 265's, but the low maintenance appeal of steelie life hit me hard.

Clearly you missed my high tech sarcasm with your low tech insults.

No really, I was just bored so I threw that comment up to see who would say something. Hahahaha. I said all that in good stupid fun. Don't mind me. :D
