Pete, are you wanting a tradesman like hybrid with 3500 watt inverter for the jobsite?

Low rpm power output and torque, better milage while cruising, and engine longevity. That's why I like diesels. But based on OPEC run EPA, it seems that more emission restrictions are on the way, which might result in no diesel Toyotas for US market... :(

I've had an 05' Dodge Cummins and then a 00' F250 7.3L Powerstroke which I traded in for my Tacoma. I really like my Tacoma but I miss my diesel. I didn't use it for what it was and that is the only reason I traded it.. I loved the sound of that turbo spooling up!!

    LOL

roomie has a 12 valve, got to play with his pump earlier, I can't wait to buy one for the LC

Test drove a 5.9 CR with a manual today, interior is lacking but man that's a sweet setup

dad has a '12 6.7 cummins/auto, great truck but the mileage isn't there

I had a 6.4 PSD with manual work truck for a while, I really liked it but I'd never want to do any serious work on them... yuck but the thing pulled like a raped ape, but of course abysmal mileage...

buddies mom wants me to put EGR cooler delete on her's, we ordered all the parts up, should be interesting -- that's the big weakness IMO

otherwise the 6.4 isn't a terrible motor and like I said, they're a lot of fun to drive, but hey which of these trucks isn't?!

I've also got to play, quite a bit, in a 6.0 PSD and I'm not fond...

buddies got a 7.3 with a few little upgrades, it's a fun truck to ride around in, and they're not plagued with the HPOP and head gasket problems

the only duramax experience I have and want to have is watching some friends tear down an LLY? Fuck that.

Cummins is the way to go though regardless. :p

I don't know who, in their right mind, would spend this kind of money on a Tacoma, but it has to be one of the coolest conversions ever. F350 4x4 King Ranch Powerstroke money for a Tacoma??? Waaaay cool, but waaaay outta my league.

with a electric hybrid truck IS a big waste of cash.. tell you why.. think of your cordless dewalt drill.. every time you use it.. once juice drained.. you have to recharge it.. then repeat the cycle.. Every time you charge that thing.. it lose it cell power over time.. once it cant hold the charge.. it wont be rechargeable.. it cost 60-80 bucks to replace that charger. it is the same thing comes to those big fat cell under the truck or car. So it not worth keeping it.. the labor and replaceing that thing is pricey.. pretty much of same price as new car.
So IMO,, better off having diesel outright..
