IMG_2420.jpg My 03 has fox 2.5's in the front and 2.0's in the back( both with reservoirs), I'm pretty sure I know why the front rises so rough, but I'm clueless on why the back is so brutal, I kind of feel like maybe they weren't installed correctly( I bought it used). Can anyone see any problems on the back?

Others will know more but if you bought it used, it's possible that the leaf springs are meant to be used with added weight and therefore will ride badly on an unweighted truck. :notsure:

Looks like an 8 pack Dakar leaf setup with blocks?

Yeah that was my assumption, it's only like 3 inches on the shaft, so I was thinking maybe the mount on the cage wasn't measured out correctly

Your not gonna get long travel with those springs. They were designed for heavy loads, not flexing.
Why did he mount them there and not in the original shock location?

No blocks. I'm betting shocks are bottoming out.

I have no clue, the whole deal with the truck was sketchy, the guy I got it from had the truck given to him by someone who owed him money, so he didn't have a clue about anything at all, I had been looking for a Tacoma forever, but they all sold super quick, and for a ton of money for what I wanted, so I hopped on this one as soon as I could, and also came to find out the seller lied about the title, so if I can get proof, he's got another thing coming

Probably so. Yes, I see those are the perches now. On my phone they kinda looked like blocks.

I'm pretty sure that's right, because that's what feels likes happening, feels like there's no suspension back there pretty much

What could I do to fix that? Put them in the original mount location?

Looks like you don't have any rear bumpstops so your shocks are bottoming out. That's bad.

Think it's agreed they are bottoming out, if you look at the frame mounted bumpstops there is no way the leafpack/axle is able to flex up that high... that said you might have some good droop!

Looks like you have a couple inches at the top of the shocks. You'll have to make new brackets.

Or depending how long the extended shocks are.....you could maybe put them back if both brackets are still there.

Think, Id probably want to weld a new location, assuming it's he best option, and is it possible the leafs are still meant for more weight as well?

    Looks like it to me.
Count em. I have the dakars+ extra leaf for heavy loads. I think that's 8 leafs + the overload spring.
