    Why not get a Jeep?

Easy: I do not want to be on a first name basis with the service advisor.

Drove a JKU around Oahu last weekend. Was all they had to rent..$50 more than I wanted to pay but figured that driving one would get rid of my Jeep envy cause I'd realise how much of a POS it was...thereby saving us $30k in the long run.

I was right, 2014 and it felt 10 years old. Rattled over speed bumps, body rolled like a beeyatch. Couldn't imagine those poor guys driving them round 4 years later still paying them off. Def not an investment!

Dat feeling with the top off though.... can't beat it haha.

What's fuel economy? How far away you live from the gas station?

Had a brand new Jeep once and it leaked fluid from the transmission from the get go. It beat the crap out of me driving on I 20 in Louisiana, and the steering was vague at best.

The Taco is quiet, smooth on the highway, doesn't leak anything and the steering is tight.

I have both, a 2007 Tacoma and a 2010 Wrangler. The Wrangler is a toy. I like it for what it is, hard to take the top and doors off the Taco. But if I had to sell one the decision would be easy. The Taco does everything else better.

Agreed. Probably going to end up going with an older Wrangler and keep my '15 Taco.

The 4.0L is legendary, and is bulletproof. No one can convince me of anything different - I have run the hell out of that motor in at least a dozen different Jeeps, and it is consistent and keeps on chugging.

    Always a contributor, aren't ya?

I'm not quite sure what the point of this post was - not gonna lie. You are correct, though - MPGs will vary b/w their ratings and what they actually get.

Can we send this guy a beer for using the word 'newfangled'? Please?

My 2.7L Taco also only tows 3500 lbs.

    Thanks, brother. :)

I'd be hard-pressed to find truer words anywhere on TW.

Oz, I thought for sure you'd be in here trolling sooner.

I've got both. Jeep is rough, but honestly kicks ass offroad with the approach ability. Taco does everything the jeep will and go same places until a crazy angle comes along.

Or where real flex is required. Or where wheelbase is a limiting factor. Or when you dont want fragile front end components. Or you want to run chains on the front. Or....

Basically a jeep will be better than a Tacoma in the woods, I had a 92 Toyota pick up don't get me wrong thing did amazing in the woods, however the jeep always went places the truck couldn't go, and I tried in the truck it was a 92 and I beat the hell out of it lol
