Lol you liked the first pots then... There are some Yotas that can wheel rather well but unless you are doing some high speed racing that IFS isn't going to do much with crawling. Gotta get YO flex on

I'd challenge that unless you're doing some rocks in some very specific area's that amount of travel is just for show. Basically it's sweet to flex like that, break out the iPhone sweet, but the trails around here don't have many area's where you need to flex that much to get a crawl on.:fistbump:

Off camber and rocks the str8 axle is going to out perform, yes you dump tons and tons of money into the IFS and it will do well. Here I'll show you a Yota I know that runs with and out preforms some Jeeps

Ah, so what you are saying is you like to find trails/spots/rocks where you need 30" of total flex between the front and back. That's not the only offroading there is and, to be honest, it would make up less than 5% of the trails around here.

SAS is sweet, but not the end all be all here.

That is true, I like to crawl. For very mild trails and mud and even hill climbs as long as they are not rutted to bad the IFS isn't bad. Also high speed stuff I'd rock IFS all day. It truly depends on where you are at and where you wheel. Don't forget I own and love my Taco

Ruts have more to do with tire size and less to do with travel. An SAS on 33" tires will likely have WORSE ground clearance for ruts than a IAS 33" vehicle. Just saying.

That fact that it's easier to stuff insane tires under a Jeep because of the frame and body layout is more relevant that it's front end suspension setup.

I know, but there's too much "MINE IS FUCKING BETTER CAUSE I SAID SO" right now here :). Someone who is buying probably isn't helped by blank statements particularly when they might not fit there uses.

As an aside it's pretty easy to stick 35's under a Tacoma, just not as easy as it is under a Jeep.

I'm going to let this poll keep running... mainly b/c I think this conversation will continue on for a while, and b/c it's entertaining to watch everyone vote for me to go fuck myself.

    Go fuck myself: 117

    Other two options combined: 105

I told you to GFY :anonymous:

Honestly, when you see that as an option, how do you not click it! Plus I would vote for just buying a newer Tacoma and getting it to what you need to wheel. That's probably going to give you the best result. If you have conditions that are better for Jeeping, than just buy a Jeep. Fuck, I can't believe I said that. MAKE SURE IT'S A TJ :D.

Haha, I even voted for me to go fuck myself, in my own poll.

Yeah, about 15 pages ago I decided that I'm definitely keeping my '15 Taco and am going to get an older cheaper Jeep to tool around on and give me my 'Jeep fix' when I need it. I just love my Taco too much, and don't think I'd enjoy a Wrangler as a DD too much. It's hopefully going to be a TJ, but my budget (aka my wife) will be the deciding factor there...

It's all good - I just enjoy going back and forth on this, and this is one of those topics that pretty much everyone on here has an opinion about one way or another!

A TJ would be cheaper but not sure what kinda wheeling you plan to do. If you have Jeep questions I know quite a bit. I love my 13 Taco for DD, my Jeep is like driving a giant block down the road but FAK is it BEAST off road.... It's also no where near stock so you have to take that into consideration as well. I just wanted to throw a few jabs in here since it's my first thread i chose to post on.

Hey man, if I can sucker in some more dudes to come BS with us on TW, then that's a win for me.

I'm pretty knowledgeable on Jeeps, as well - I used to buy and fix up crappy ones for fun when I was in the Corps. I think that's why I'm missing them so much now. This is my first time in a long time that I haven't had one.

Stock to stock vehicles, nothing beats a Jeep off road. But , after wheeling both vehicles together for years , as me and my nephew did, the Tacoma goes out alone four wheeling a couple of weekends. Jeeps in the garage being worked on on more than a couple times. But off road, they kick ass.

I find that most trails I've been in around the north east and south east US are more Jeep friendly than anything else. Whether it's because of the nasty angles or skinny pinch points in the trails, a Wrangler is just easier to maneuver.

Rock crawling is in Jeep's favor unless it's up against a SASed Tacoma, in which the cost/benefit ratio is still in Jeep's corner.

If we're talking about overlanding or driving at higher speeds through the desert, I think the Tacoma wins hands down.

I agree, if you're going to buy a toy Jeep, TJ or bust!
