    Hey guys,

I'm researching on buying a truck in near future. I cant make up my mind between these two. The dilemma that I'm facing is that I dont want to ever face space issue in the back seat because I want adults to fit comfortably in the back seat. Also 4 door F150 bare bone cost around 40k vs a good optioned Tacoma DCLB OF/Sports. Being a family man, I need DC. And LB is a must because to me i think it will be well used. I am not sure about the back seats on Tacoma DC. On the other hand sometimes i see F150 supercrew as little too big for my taste and not sure it might be overkill for my lifestyle(regular fam man, occasional weekend "warrior", dont plan to haul anything, occasionally moving furnitures etc. Wife & I, we only have one child, a 2 yr old, maybe 1 more in a yr or so. One thing i was thinking is that buy the Med size truck 2016 DCLB and when the kids grow up, only then move to a full size pickup that is by then if I still beleive i need a full size. Also considering the resale value of Taco being much better than F150.

I realize that I'm on Taco forum asking this question, So let me have it...what would you do if you were in my shoe?

The DC back seats in the Tacoma aren't bad. Adults can fit back there but obviously a F-150 will have more room. If you went with a Taco and wanted to sell down the line, you will keep much more resale than your F-150. I really think mid-size vs full size is an apples and oranges comparison. If your kids are small, the Tacoma will suffice for a long time. I am with you that the F-150 is too big. That is why I want a mid-size for everyday driving. Both are solid options IMO.

For me it was simple: I don't like large vehicles. I wouldn't get an F150 if it were cheaper than the Tacoma. I sat in the rear of the 2015: it's no family sedan, but it's not the back of my Mustang, either.

15 years from now, you can give your Tacoma to your kid and know they have a reliable truck to drive around or sell it for $3-5k and put a down payment on a new car for them. Or you can trade in your 2nd F150 and hope to get enough to cover tax on something used.

You answered your own concerns there. Back seats will never fit an adult comfortably for a long period of time. Also I bought a loaded F150 EB crew cab for 38k OTD in Houston

Do you want the ability to tow a house? Get a F150.
Do you want superior off-road ability? Get a Tacoma.

$40k might be a decked out one. TrueCar is reporting big discounts on F150s right now. I hear 4x4 crews selling for $34k. Now these truck most likely have the 5.0 and not an Eco Boost. Reportedly Ford is discounting the crap out them to move them. Like all good things the discounts probably will not last long.

A little of this and a little of that.
Apples & oranges IMO. You state that you need comfortable backseat space for adults. That's full size truck territory. Get the F-150 Supercrew.
    Good luck.

If space is your main concern get the full size truck.

Why does it have to be a 2016 taco?

Interesting input, and not too douchey so far. I had similar needs.

    Couple other considerations:
How big/tall are you? I haven't sat in a 2016 (who has, hard to sit in a unicorn), but the 15 Tacoma DCLB could be a bit snug for larger folks.

Where do you typically drive/park on a daily basis? More urban, suburban, or rural? Although about the same length, I think, the 150 is, uh, a bit thicker.

I'm not big and I am often in a downtown area, so the Tacoma makes good sense for me. Plus my newborn son will be able to drive it 16 years from now.

    Because you have one.

Oh and where is that video by Ford where the Tundra shakes itself to death?

Full size GM, Ram, & Ford trucks are on sale right now for the same price as a new Taco. Only you can decide which works best for your situation.
