For me there's a pretty critical factor when it comes to mid-size vs full size. Do you need to tow/haul stuff and if so how much? If you do and it exceeds 75% of the mid-size's capabilities, you have justification for a full size. If not a mid size will do fine and is preferred imo. I'd get a Tundra over an F150 though despite aesthetics which favor the F150 heavily atm.

If it's little kids in the back seat then get the Tacoma. You've got like 10 years before they get too big. During that time you can enjoy the convenience of a smaller truck. You can just trade it in and get a bigger one later when it becomes necessary.

I had this debate myself, I was going to go with a Ram if I went full size but I decided that more space would be nice but a large majority of the time it would be overkill. Resale, reliability and maneuverability have won out over the extra size and horsepower. I will be buying the Tacoma in the spring.

Must have been said already but why not get a tundra? Don't get me started on all fit and finish warranty work i have had to deal with on the '15 F150.
To me it appears that ford currently has monkeys assembling them in kansas and more than likely hired raccoons for spraying bedliners not to mention the zoo they probably assembled for dearborn.
I will not touch them even with a hefty employee discount IMO.

    I hear you man.
Today i had a sold F150 brought to me to inspect and warranty a glovebox. Buyer could not even get off the lot without having to use his warranty lol.
    WTF Ford?

I've had both. I don't care what anyone says, 4 adults (especially guys) in a DC Tacoma is not very comfortable for any length of time. Just look at the specs - DC leg room is similar to extended cab room in a full size. I took 3 others on a ski trip once in my Tacoma and vowed never again. We were miserable.

The Tacoma may be a little more reliable, time will tell. Mine was a great truck. But I have way more space and capability now, and get about 2-3 mpg better in my F150.

I can barely stand one other adult male in my car with me let alone 3 screw rear leg room. It's a truck not a sausage fest.

The Tundra Plat or 1794 blows the Tacoma Limited out of the water. I mean it's not even on the same planet, although the price is certainly within a few K
