Goddamnit, Frank. Snap out of it! If it weren't for you, I wouldn't know about the secret midrange on my stereo! My truck is 10 years old, and it rocks! I'm only 5 years behind you. My chest hairs are salt and pepper. I think the first genners do a better job, frankly, because they like the older trucks and need to take care of them and earned them.

I've said this before. I have two modes on this this site. Mr. serious solve a problem and provide advice, and Mr. Fuck Around and be a dick. If the truck ain't broke, I have fun, and ignore the real dickheads. Don't get despondant, bud! Stay here and be a part of the culture. It is what we are.

I pretty much want to drive down the road and punch the kid in the face.... it wouldn't be a far drive. I hope like hell he gets banned.

I gotta admit, at one point on this forum, I was starting to fall for some of the antics... pullin the attitude, but if that was the case, nothing would ever be taught in this forum.

The only reason people actively come to this forum is to learn, repair, and build some friends.

If everyones a douchebag, no one will learn anything and this forum will slowly die.

Harden your bark, there are storms on the horizon.
TW has changed. This thread is a perfect example. People have nothing of worth to add, so they go off topic and generally post whore the relevant responses into oblivion. The OP asked a straightforward question and has gotten about two dozen relevant answers out of nearly 20 pages.

Everyone gripes about the reposts...they don't bother me in the least. :notsure: If I'm not interested in a thread topic, I don't open it. Also, concerning the hailed "search noob." attitude... Not everyone is forum savy from the moment they sign up. Legitimate questions should be answered. If you don't want to do it, then don't. There is always someone who will help out. Most everything has been covered before, but new members don't know that and are still getting familiar with their trucks in many cases...cut some slack. If for no other reason than common courtesy.

My post count doesn't reflect the fact that I have visited TW daily since I signed up, but I'm here every day. I haven't tried to get my postcount to 50k, or become a TW celebrity. I check in daily to see some badass trucks and dream of one day turning mine into one. Occasionally I need some reference and will search for what I'm after. To be honest though, with as many posts as there have been...using common terms such as "locker", "VSC", "size", etc. will yield so many results, that its tough to rift through all of it. So I understand why people start new threads.

Posting in the wrong section. Again, most are not forum savy when they are starting off. This also doesn't bother me. Spell check nazis: if the point gets across, what's the problem? Thread derailers: boosting that post count so you can command respect? Won't get it from me. 4x2 is the only member I can think of who probably has 15k posts answering questions with useful answers. Ethugs: it's tough out here in the streets yo? If berating someone on an internet forum is a joyful practice for you, you have my sympathy.

I do enjoy reading some of the shenannigans of TW, but many times it goes too far. This is not douchebagworld.com, though many times it appears to be.

TW is still a great site, though I'm unsure of the direction it's heading.

    OIG, back to lurkerville.

This should be a sticky! All newbs should have to read it, as should a lot of older members. I too am on this site everyday multiple times a day. I simply don't click every thread, I hunt for titles and descriptions that I may learn from or help with. Then sift through the shit and find the 1 good answer or input as best of an answer as I can if one wasn't provided.

I really think that Bob should put his foot down and allow the mods free reign to pass out the ban hammer. There's too many kids on here that honestly are ruining the site with their attitude of "because I don't have to see this person, I can treat them like shit."

Don't they already all have ban hammers? Just that they usually have a consensus vote before handing it out. Think I saw kilted talk about it when they talked about lurry

Instead of locking the thread they should have tended the problem. Nothing wrong with culling the herd. We have plenty of members a few wouldn't be missed.

We have free reign with the ban hammer. Many times, an infraction is given, or a PM is sent to the offending member. That being said, We can only moderate what we see, and we cant read every post. This site is VERY active, and we rely on the members to report postings that need to be looked into. YOU guys are the ones who dictate how the site goes, while the mods enforce the site code of conduct.

The problem was handeld as we saw fit. If we ran amok banning folks, while it could be entertaining for a while, no one would want to join, for fear of the possibility of a ban. Joking around is fine. Blatent ass hatery against a new member is NOT tolerated.
