Why vents/slots on the inside of one front fender but not the other?

    Why is there vents/slots on the inside of the passenger front fender but not the driver side? Also whats the point of them at all?

    where the air intake draws in air. so its a stock cold air intake pretty much.

    it was explained to me that, when in motion, the rotation of the tire helps to keep that area a High Pressure location for the intake. If you think about the physics involved, it makes sense. Otherwise, why would Toyotya have wasted teh time to cut them there??

    That being said, I have no way to test this to see if its true. There are alot of openings that would lead one to think the area couldnt be any higher than the other side, but who knows...

    It's no where near my air intake and if the wheel creates all that pressure it probably creates a good deal of dust too I would prefer not to turn my engine into a shop vac. Frankly I can see no practical use for the vent.
