I’m generally not a fan of the xrunners, but that actually looks good. Especially with the turbo kit out for 3rd gens now:burnrubber: my dad has a 2007 Xrunner, lowered 3 inches with some mods and a tune and that thing is FUN to drive. I’ve had fun gapping several sports cars with it:p

Yeah they are a different breed of taco all together. With the swap i'm going to be doing ill need the rubber to hook the power. My dad and I have the capabilities of fabricating and molding body parts. So the ideas are up in the air right now. love the side pipes concept!

Those are Pretty cool, something different.

Do you have any examples of you and your dads work with molding body parts etc..?

Years ago. Im just getting back into the tuning market after taking a 7 year hiatus from the drifting world. I molded some jdm S13 chuki skirts once. A few lips here and there. Some motorcycle fairings. Never made anything for sale just myself and family. My dad is the chemical mechanical engineer, im just the perfectionist to make sure the final result was clean.

    Cool,
So what was or would be your typical process from start to finish?
i.e. would you start a design in a program or start shaping without??

From scratch. We would use our design cad, then send it into a cnc router to produce a foam block. From there we would create a case mold to lay down either FRP or CF depending on what works better.

Do you guys have a CNC available?
    What is FRP and CF?
And what does something like that generally cost to get to a point where you would have a mold to be a able to reproduce X.?

My dad works for a company that has everything to produce, but on a grand scale is another ball park all together. FRP is fiberglass and CF is carbon fiber. As for cost we would have no idea until a pilot product is produced to crunch all the #'s.

I didn't mean how much would the product cost.. I meant to get to the point where you had a mold to make whatever..? For instance if someone didn't have access like your dad, and wanted to have a mold made..

Just curious bc I'm interested in this stuff.

Making the mold is the hardest part. Molding the foam blocks takes trial and error by hand, but with a CNC it is borderline structurally exact obviously with the right software and program. I would say start messing around with some design CAD programs RHINO, Autocad, etc...

It's hard to make a mold without the eye and imagination of the designer present;)

    Possibilities from there are endless!

all stock so far, but looking to get some part soon. I want to add boost
I'm actually making a performance truck just like this I already have all the parts prepared and I'm doing a lot of my own fiberglass work unfortunately I've done a ton of research and there's nothing out there that you can do except traffic on some sort of kit to make it work for you the hardest problem that I'm having is finding a front long arm suspension.
every long-arm suspension gives you a lift and I can't find any kind of long arm that does 0 or even lowering so I think it might be custom-made or there's going to have to be some tricky stuff going on with that I've been looking into doing a tundra front arm swap but I haven't gotten any good feedback about that.

I will soon be posting pictures and videos on my build step-by-step once it's done I have a lot of work in front of me.
I'm not sure if I'm going to do the wide body flair or do universal wide-body flares they both look pretty good but the honey d wide body flare kits are super super expensive.
but you can possibly get universal that would look pretty similar.
I would rather do the wide body kit but again the problem I'm having is the front long arm suspension if anybody can please help me out or point me in the right direction where I can have a lowered Tacoma with long arm suspension that would be amazing thank you

May I ask how old you are? I’ve seen your other posts and I can tell you your project is a massive waste of time and money. Why not invest that time and money into an education or stocks/bonds/real estate?

You’re going to end up with a mangled piece of garbage that has no value, with several years of your life and tens of thousands of dollars wasted.

just wanted to say sorry for snapping back like that anyways kind of coming to the realization that this forum isn't the best place for knowledge.

a lot of you guys would rather b negative then to actually help someone that has questions there's a lot of things I'm getting into that I'm unfamiliar with like going wide body or stancing your wheels also I've never done a 7th injector on a V6 before I've just done traditional boosting so I apologize for asking silly questions but sometimes you just got to do it and I'm not afraid to ask so I will keep asking and I appreciate everything and all the help everyone has provided
