The kit I used included said block. I didn’t find it necessary but I did change the bracket on the hard line above the axle.

I had to remove the driver side parking brake cable bracket and use a zip tie. On the passenger side I was able to bend the bracket enough to keep the cable from kinking at full droop.

I’m surprised a competent off road shop didn’t check everything through the full range of travel. But I don’t have enough information to throw them under the bus. This is exactly why so many mechanics won’t install customer supplied parts.

Dealerships are nothing more than a dens of thieves.

Was in the middle of a 2,000 mile road trip when I started experiencing hard starts after fill ups on my 2014 Camry. Swung by the closest dealership and was quickly quoted $400 for a new purge valve, and $400 for labor. ($800.00)
A quick google search, (while at the dealership) and I had an OEM valve headed my way $26 bucks shipped. Valve is located atop the engine and held on by two Phillips head screws. The valve was waiting for me when I made it home. Actual labor time to replace was around a minute and a half.

$800 dollars for a $26 dollar part and a few minutes of their time.

    These aren't isolated incidents...

The dealer is for recall or warranty work only.

Yep, 100 percent accurate. Sometimes, while goofing around, I forget to remember what is important. I apologize, I sure am glad that the Family is safe and all is well.

So after 1500 miles the problem has returned, stuck in another parking lot with the driver rear tire locking up.

Waiting a a tow once again.

Had it towed to a ford dealer (we are out of state, nearest Toyota dealer is 1.5hrs away). Ford tech said that rear drum brake adjuster was all the way out. Thinks when the cold water gets on it and it sits it’s seizing up that brake. He made the adjustment to the brake drove it around, sprayed it with a pressure washer and drove it some more. Seems fine now.

Idk what to think, just frustrated with 1600 miles ahead of me before getting back home.
