    RE: Rotopax

Ok then. Let me know when you decide.

I'm putting a BAJA Mega Mule on my cap, so a Rotopax is what I want to go with instead of dual Scepter cans (I already have a BAJA dual scepter can holder that I would unload).

That is where you go in to occasionally torque the wedge lock. And that is where the license plate relocate kit is bolted into.

I'm not an engineer, but the receiver sleeve doesn't appear deep enough for serious towing. It would probably be OK for a small/light pop up, but nothing heavier.

That is my concern. I like the idea, but having to remove it to tow my car or a load of firewood would be a PITA. I am not sure I'd want to haul 5k+ using what is essentially a hitch extension.
I know the initial design is to allow use on multiple types of vehicles, and keep production cost down by doing so. But, if the optional accessories end up damaging the vehicle, it's not a good option. If sticking with this design, maybe have an adjustable bracket that bolts the hole in the bumper to help stabilize it.

The high clearance will have the tire 4" higher than where the Solo has it placed.

Well, the engineers who tested it using SAE standards rated it at 7,500lbs max and 750 tongue.

This may be true on a micro physics level, but the testing company says it rates exactly like the rest of the Hitchgate line.

It's rated up to 7,500lbs...and tested notably higher than this. We don't offer a lifetime warranty for no reason. =)

That's good to know, but it seems like you have too much movement as it is now for the optional Rotopax accessory. So, curious how that same rate of motion will be when the tire is mounted 4" higher and also closer to the body.

Even if they say it won't flex any more, you're still having the same amount of flex and less air space to do it in.*

Which hitch pin hole are you using? Moving it to the next hole out could solve the issue....or you may need this to get away from the big booty on the back of that tailgate.

How snug is the fit of the tailgate mount? The one that replaceces the entire tailgate. Does it rattle?

I was in the home that would put it the farthest out from the tailgate

And just so it's also noted, I was informed that the bolt for the license plate relocate kit would not have to be removed everytime the wedge lock would have to be torqued. It does because the 3/4 socket will not make it past the 3/4 bolt inside the tunnel to get to the wedge lock system
