I want the Hitchgate max, but thinking of going with the Solo because I can get that one as a high clearance, and the max wont work for me being the same hight as the hitch. So part number UHG33187 with attachment UHG31964.

Sure is, make sure to choose the Solo High Clearance from the drop down menu.

Hey, I was wondering if anyone has a Hi-Lift mounted on a tacoma? How does the mounting system work, and does it always end up at an angle like in the Wilco youtube explanation video, or are there other ways in which it can be attached to the Hitchgate? Thanks!

If you use the Wilco Offroad Hi-Lift/Roto mount it will be at an angle. This is purposeful...to keep it as narrow as possible.

I wouldn't advise doing this daily and/or cross country but it worked in a pickle and saved my a&$ today. Clearly I would want to get bags or add yet another leaf to my pack if I was doing this more often as well. She is sagging hard in the rear!

Bike broke down in the woods and I had to come back for it with the Taco. The Hitchgate Solo worked great in conjunction with my old motorcycle hitch carrier.

Hey rick, just curious, have you tried putting a 3.5 gallon rotopax on your hitchgate? id like to go this route and I noticed you only went with the 2 gal, but the description on wilco's website says it supports up to a 3.5. Just curious if there are any pics of clearance between the hitch and tailgate with the larger 3.5 gallon?

    Thanks in advance!

I think that bike is around 400lbs and that spare is around 80-100lbs I'd guess.
