If they have hidden hitches behind the players these will not work. The hitch I believe has to be below the plate and flush with the front edge of the bumper

I'm guessing I know the answer, but any movement on this? I'm interested in a left offset unit. JEGs currently puts it at $1,032.35 with a $30 off and free shipping, but also note it'll ship March of 2021...so 3+ month turn around

What do you mean, in price? The offset one I’m after is more than the solo mentioned mostly here.

I know we lost your connection at the company, just curious if you’ve made a new one possibly.

I have the hitchgate solo and really like a lot of things about it but it has a design flaw that I reached out to Wilco about and never heard back. It does not have a stop that prevents it from over extending. When you swing out the tire it can open to far and if you are not careful the tire hits the taillight. I am pretty careful but I did break one already because we were off road and I was sitting off camber and retrieving recovery gear from the back. When it opened it swung out to fast to stop and smashed the tail light. My driveway is sloped as well so when I am in the bed of the truck with it open it will eventually find its way rested against the tail light or someone bumps it and it hits it as well.

Wilco should come up with some way to prevent extension beyond 180 degrees to protect the vehicle. I will get photo's shortly if that helps explain the issue.

the simple solution is to tighten the swing out bolt. iirc, it talks about it in the manual. i run mine tight enough that it won't really move by itself so it swinging out and getting enough momentum to cause damage isn't going to be a thing.

Thanks, I picked it up used so did not have the manual but I had tightened that bolt before. If I get it much tighter it my wife won't be able to open it up. I emailed the company but did not get a response. I believe I am going to ask a local guy that builds custom rock slides if he can weld on a little tab/stop that prevents it.

honestly, for the price this thing costs, it seems like an oversight and prob should have been included.

i got mine included with a trailer i bought used and i love it.

For the amount of mark up they are asking, yeah a stop is something they absolutely should have added.

However, the bigger issue is the fact that the company wants to act like they are super communicative and available in their posts but when a paying customer has a problem for which they might not have a solution they leave them hanging with no response.

I am not just interested in buying a swing-out carrier like this, I will buy one in the next six months max and that statement by batlou categorically removes Wilco from contention.

I'm sure they have plenty of orders and, considering it sounds like they fabricate these, I'm sure they're busy as hell. I sincerely doubt they'll be worried about the loss of my business. Not trying to come off like a threat.

I'm just saying that if I'm paying that much mark-up I expect the company to at least have a functioning customer service system of some kind beyond Jimmy remembering to check his email inbox that day. I don't think that is unreasonable.

Sounds like a fly-by-night operation they have over there if they are blowing people off completely like that. To do such a thing to a customer is pretty unforgivable, IMO. So much for repeat business I guess.

Then again as soon as I heard the review was from someone that "received it for testing" and didn't "buy it with their money" I had a feeling their opinion would likely be positive, for some strange reason.

The first one I did receive it for technically free. I paid the shipping to my house. I had to purchase the license plate kit, light, and Rotopax mount. So not completely free. Then when I tested the High Clearance I had to pay the shipping for the new lower arm. They gave me a discount code for people to use for a whopping 10% off. Then the person I dealt with on here left the company. Then I had all the same issues everyone else has. No responses to emails, phone calls etc. I finally got a hold of someone and sent them all the posts on this forum to show them how dissatisfied people were with the company. They didn’t like the bad press and said things would change. I gave up dealing with them long ago so sorry if people are having a tough time dealing with them, but so was I and I gave up completely. I have reached out to them for Group Buys etc and have never heard back.

Welp. As a prospective customer, i'm also OUT. I was interested as well, but reading through even part of the communication issues + the lack of "stopper" are deal breakers.

Unfortunately in the meantime, we still have our spare on the roof, which also sucks.

They have gone dead silent to me as well. In my last email I informed them, I would not recommend them on here and would tell people to find other parts. Customer Service sucks, they have been dishonest and shady. And in all honesty you could probably get a new rear bumper with swing out for what they charge for stuff.

i've never seen a rear swing out bumper with tire carrier for less than like $2.5k, at least for 1st gens. the westcott dual hitch seems nice, but it's basically $2k.

is there an alternative to the wilco that is sub-$1000?

yeah, theirs looks solid, with lockout adjustments, etc. but again, it's a 40% jump in price over the wilco.

on a side note, their website is trying to collect sales tax from me (i'm in Oregon)...
