I hit the speed bumps every night driving my mom to work. Watched in my mirror didn't even twitch over the speed bump.

That and our wedge-lock. Unless your thief has the proper length socket extension...he's not getting anything.

Unless you are going off large ledges (e.g. like on some trails in Moab), I cant see the hitch rack interfering much (but I have never offroaded in the eastern US...so what do i know) To be frank, if the angle of approach/departure are issues for you, you are wheeling in the wrong vehicle as a pickup truck has more overhang (or at least looks like it) than a 4runner, or FJ. In my mind everything has a trade off with regards to design. In the case of the hitch rack its going to potentially have more clearance issues than a bumper with a swing away tire mount....but its a hell of a lot cheaper.

And you can remove it in about 5 minutes to let your 16 year old kid drive it to prom...if you should find yourself in that life stage. =)

Keep in mind with the Tacoma Hitch receiver you need a longer Hitch Pin as the collar around the hole adds length. I went with the one above as it is longer

And I bought this to put in the Hitchgate receiver and will be putting a D Ring shackle in it as well. Red of course.

As Rick said, at 35" you'll start encroaching on the secondary hitch. Also, if you have 15.5" wide tires you may have issues as well.

Weight limit is indeed 150lbs of stuff.

Nice bro I'm looking at the VT. Should have pulled the trigger on a CBI with swing out or something along those lines a while back but couldn't justify the extra G note
