I currently have a 2018 TRD sport with the short bed. A friend of mine has a 2014, also short bed which came with a tri-fold cover (pretty sure its the OEM one). The only issue is that I am not sure if it will fit, and I don't want him to ship it if it won't fit.

The easy answer is just to test it or look at the beds, however he is in Texas and I am currently away on active duty. Any help is appreciated.

Could you provide a link of the 2nd gen oem tonneau that your friend has as I didn't know one existed.

By more or less the same, I don’t think you are taking into consideration that the bed rails sit about an inch lower than a second Gen Tacoma. Given most tonneau cover utilize this to be held in place it makes a very big difference.

I’m going to guess it won’t work, unless you can fabricate the brackets yourself to make it work out.

My RTT rack came from a second Gen, had to re drill holes to make it fit.

Yea I just looked at my bros 2nd gen and your right and our 3rd gen is an inch longer as well due to our bigger tailgate.

Jukebox thanks for the response, any chance you could show exactly what is different between the two? I'm just curious if it is a deal breaker or something that I could rig up to make it work. I'll get pics of the cover as soon as I can
