I would be scared to remove my door panels, I never did that. Plus I have bad hands, so I have others do the work for me.
Mobile edge does sound systems and it is on my list down the road

You could definitely keep stock HU/speakers and add a sub to the system. I imagine you'll find the remainder of the system lacking in clarity and depth however. You could easily spend less than $6-700 for a full plug and play setup vs a hefty sum for a "meh" factory upgraded system.

Any decent stereo shop should be more than capable of doing the install without touching factory wiring. The upgraded speakers/dash tweeters alone are very noticeable for the average listener.

Yes it really is! Best of luck with the audio upgrade. I'm happy I did mine. Although I would potentially go with a different subwoofer, if I had a do-over.

    Hello,

My '15 DCSB has the factory Entune non-jbl stereo system. I replaced the factory paper speakers with Rockford Fosgate speakers (R169 & R1675). Very happy with the clarity & sound but would like to add a little more bass without taking up too much space.

This is exactly what I am looking for size-wise.

Also, where did you get the speaker signal from? The rear or front door speakers?

    Thank you

Awesome! Are you still running the same set-up? Is there a noticeable improvement in Bass over the door speakers?

Thanks again for the info! That’s exactly what I am looking for. Something with enough bass that I can run less bass to my door speakers. I plan to install mine behind the drivers side rear seat. I don’t have the plastic cubbies installed and I have room there.
