My truck is so much quieter than my car, that its a treat to drive even with the car fully dynamatted top to bottom

I’d guess roughly 4 feet for each of the two doors. The upper portions.

I used about 10ft per side, I have about a foot left and I ordered the 20ft length. Just doing the middle to top portions of each side.

    EDIT: double cab for clarification.

I installed the strips on my double cab last night. I'm not 100% sure I would have noticed if some had done it without my knowledge. They only real measurement for me was that I normally have the radio volume set at 20 when on the highway and today, 18 was fine.

    Oh look, another mod....
Dude, thanks for posting this (and the install pictures). I have the same color truck (with a sunroof) that you do. It's nice to see what it will look like after I do it. Yours is very clean and neat. Now I have a baseline for how mine should look. Much appreciated.

This was the picture from his post. It looks like (correct me if I'm wrong), it goes on the front of the sunroof. (Not the sides or rear.) Which makes sense, since that is where the wind mainly comes in from:

Did toyota change the amount of factory weatherstripping on different years or trim levels? Just wondering how you guys are claiming such a crazy difference after doing this mod.

Planning to install a roof rack this month and I anticipate a slight increase in noise. Don't have any issues with in-cab noise now, but this seems like an affordable mod that can enhance the driving experience. Will try it later and report. Thanks for the post, good idea!

I don't have before/after numbers. But for folks looking to make their trucks quieter: Two things I did that made a big different:
I hung 1lb mass-loaded-vinyl on the panel in the back of the cab replacing the factory one. I cut it to exactly fit the shape of the back panel under the rear window. To my ear it cut the amount of in-cab noise by half on the highway on smooth pavement. Even more on rough pavement. I also put in a underhood insulation mat - it significantly cut down on some of the mechanical clatter from the engine but also cut the intake resonance by impressive levels.

Nice thing about this mod is it will likely work on other vehicles with similar door design. Thanks OP.

Got any pictures of the under the hood work you did? I've been thinking about doing this the day I bought my truck.

Here is zoom out pic open and close. You can barely see the rubber trim. And I had enough to wrap around the roof. I placed the trim just on the edge of the panel. I started from the driver side aft and ran it forward. I had two remaining seals from the doors. The 1st piece ended on the passenger rear and used the 2nd remaining trim piece toward the rear and finished from where I started. Take your time on the corner seal, it's doable but a tight reach.

I have a roof rack with recovery gear case, air intake, and ARB awning passenger side on the roof rack. IMO it made a difference giving me a better seal in that area. Hope this helps.
