Sooooooo you’re saying it won’t implode… but potentially explode haha. Damn, I really like it as is, but that all makes perfect sense.

Are yalls oem weather stripping on the doors attached with just clips? Or do they also have 3m tape or something of the sort to attach it to the door?

This truck has the quietest interior of any vehicle I have ever owned, -15 db would make it like a Rolls. :proposetoast:

my 2022 Sport also has a lot of road noise. i recently bought some weather stripping to add around the doors as well as this stuff i plan on spraying up under the front wheel wells. Seems like a lot of noise comes from that area as well. I also purchased sound deadening material for the doors. So if all that doesnt make much of a difference, then :notsure:

I did this, added a strip between the doors. Got the idea from a friend who has a Ranger. I can tell a little bit. Need more time in some cross winds. Keep in mind I don't have any wind noise issues so I'm just trying to improve it even more. The pool noodle worked the best.IMG_20220325_075655694.jpg IMG_20220325_075705394.jpg

This is a hell of a find! I have been dealing with rattling doors over bumps for a long time now. Since the truck was new actually and it makes it sound like absolute junk. If it cuts down additional noise then even better! I'm going to my West Marine tomorrow and buying a few packs of those. Thanks for the post about this!

Do you have a pic of where you installed the pool noddle? Has it stayed in place over time?

I did the weather stripping over the weekend using the same material as the OP. I didn’t officially measure it, but you can absolutely tell the difference in noise. As someone who spent two days layering sound-deadening mat on the door panels, this 20 minute mod for $30 is well worth it

I did the $3 pool noddle install between the cab and the box.
I will confirm that noise is reduced substantially. My spouse even said it sounds a bit quieter now.

another thing you can do (that i did) is add rubber tubing to the inside of the mfg door seal to thicken it and add more noise insulation. it holds its oem look and add 10-15dbl noise reduction. ill see if i can find the tubing size (i did this 3-4 years ago and its holding strong

I bought the black pool noodle style from Lowes, same diameter, looks better than the pool colors being offered. I layed under the truck and fed it between the bed and the body. It only took a minute, its very easy I promise. Just get under there, have a look and start feeding it up and over some obstructions. It works great!

Short bed owners have a harder time because of the fuel tank being in the way.

I just did this exact thing today! Went to HD and got a 6' length of pipe insulation for a ¾in pipe. Out the door not even $4!
I bought some weather stripping from HD also and put it on just the front doors. IMO the pipe insulation was the best for the money! Best $4 I've spent on this truck!!!

I sound deadened the rear floor and the rear wall and the noodle still did better!

we have a couple cab vents on the back side of the cab so i wouldn't worry about that. that's what the pressure vents are designed for. it looks like a rubber bumper between the cab and bed.

Good to know!! If you can provide a few more pictures of the entire door coverage that would be awesome. Also, how many doors did the 20 feet cover? Enough for an access cab or double cab?

Read this post while I was at Home Depot and bought the exact same pipe insulation. Stuffed it in the truck when I got home.

    Thanks
