My 2012 tacoma has the wind whistling sound after I get to 45+ MPH.

It sounds like someone blowing the top of a glass bottle. Not a Kazoo sound. If there is major crosswind it, the whistle sound can change, but generally its the glass bottle whistle sound. Highly annoying. And the whistle sound doesn't seem to be coming from one side. Extra info, when it rains the whistle is gone.

I have seen info saying the hood seal, front windshield seal, door seals, Lower control arm holes. I did find 2 TSBs that I am going to call Toyota about and see if they can fix those or do something before I spend any money.

I do believe the sound is coming from the front end so I am going to try messing with the hood seal first. Will do my best to update the tread with what I find.

You may want to pop the inside mirror trim off your doors (the triangular plastic guys) and put a piece of tape over the mounting holes in there. After chasing wind noise for a long time that's what did it for me, and it's an easy thing to check.

Take blue masking tape and tape off around the windshield and where the hood meets the grill. Drive it and see if it’s gone. If it is, then remove a section of tape and drive again. When the noise appears, that’s your spot.

That is exactly how I’d go about finding the problem.

Update: so I believe the noise is coming from passenger door, weatherstripping area.

my wife and I were on a road trip and there was an insane crosswind and the whistle turned into a blaring kazoo sound haha. Turns out when the wind hits just right, it makes the whistle and with more wind a kazoo style sound. Haven’t done any fix yet but I do believe that is where the sound is coming from.

There's a TSB for that with updated front door seals, mine does it in high crosswind too but it's not bad enough that I have bothered fixing it.
