Window vents... What's the attraction?

We have a lot of sunny hot days here in New Mexico so I use mine to vent the cab while I am at work and it helps if a monsoon storm pops up and I am not able to close the windows on my truck for a while. It's a little more difficult to determine if my windows are cracked open so our ever present parking lot scumbags will tend to look for other cars with cracked windows to mess with.

They also help with some glare from the sun but I've got window tint so it just an extra. When the weather cools in the fall I will crack my windows a bit to help with airflow when I drive and it keeps the wind from blowing back into the cab from what I can tell.

Like anything else really, you like the looks of them or you don't. I love cracking the windows and opening the fresh air vent when it rains in the desert. Not too often I get to do that but it sure is nice.

i had them on an old 4 runner and got them for my tacoma. my windows are open an inch right now as i type this at work and the clouds are looking like rain. so i dont have to go out and close my windows.

theyre nice when its cold out and theres snow on the ground. i can crack the windows to defog my windows a little faster.

i also like the way they look

Other than living in the south and the fact that it’s 100 degrees thru September, I actually like the look of my vent visors. I paint matched mine and I have the low profile version. Plus it adds about 10hp!! :burnrubber:

AVS in channel vents, I like how they look on my truck. It don't make you an asshole if you don't like the looks of them.

During the summer months, it's hotter than a fresh fucked sheep in a forest fire where I live! I would not own a truck without these window vents. Now God forbid I had to live above the Mason-Dixon line, then maybe I would not spend the money.

    Stock, 4WD, Access Cab, White,
Above the Mason-Dixon line there are extremes in Temperature and Humidity, high 90's for raw temperature is common. Morning dew at 80 degrees happens often. Windows fog in these conditions.

The winter the vents have an advantage with defogging the windows, thereby enhancing vision. Neat thing about winter window fog is that it turns to frost.

Sir, when the next forest fire hits, please just let the sheep be. They are probably scared enough as it is :D

Probably already stated above, but if you run errands with a loved one they are nice to have. Specifically those errands where said loved one is inside for 20 minutes, it’s cool enough out not to have to run the truck the whole time for AC, but it’s spitting rain. First world problems/comfort.

    @Knute
I'd say Tom Brady looks pretty healthy - I think he goes like 80% vegan.
I'd wager he could kick most of our azzez all over the field LOL -

And true, to be politically correct Oat Milk is not 'Milk' per-se - it is a product - with 0% fat and it's a close to Cow-Milk as I can find.
I on occasion buy Impossible 'Meat' ... if you grill it the stuff will 'bleed' like Ground Beef and leaves char-marks like Ground Beef.
Tastes like Ground Beef as well. Lots of calorie overkill tho.

I do eat Salmon (grilled !!! ) and Tuna Steak ( grilled !!! ) about once a week.

Gardien products ( chicken strips / meatballs / turkey cutlets ) for what they are ( and what they are not ) are pretty darn good.

Given the choice, I'd rather look a bit pale from going Vegan then look a bit pale from having open heart surgery and being a slave
to medicines the rest of my life.

Of course, I'd sell my mother to the Taliban to rip into a rack of ribs, chow down on a porterhouse and lather up a potato with real butter
followed up with a half-pint of hagan-das ice cream, but those days are over for me - LOL - for the rest of you folks, they don't have to
ever be over for you if you lighten up now... assuming that you folks ate crazy like I did for 60+ years...

Thanks for all the advice! I didn't think I had a need for these in my environment. In Florida they should come standard (land of sunshine, in liquid form often without warning!)

Keeps the rain from dripping on the inside of your door while you are creeping along logging roads looking for deer to shoot with the windows down.

Serious question, is that legal in your state? Out here in CA, we have to exit the car to actually shoot. I cruise the desert trails at night hunting jackrabbits.

With regards to the OP, I suppose I should actually address the original question instead of just clogging up your thread with my random BS.

I had the weathertechs, but after time in the brutal sun out here in the desert, they dry out and end up cracking and not staying in place. I replaced the two back ones, and then when the driver front side cracked, I said screw it and pulled em all off. I agree with all the benefits mentioned by other posters, but they don't just don't hold up to the sun as well as I'd like. Haven't tried the AVS ones.
