Passenger side wiper arm isn't working - possibly popped off the actuator arm...

Anyone have to fix the wiper arm mechanism? What's involved?

Any insight is appreciated - Thanks

I would 1st check the 14 mm nut on the actual wiper arm. If it's tight then you'll need to remove the wipers along with the cowl cover and investigate

Cowl cover does not necessarily have to be removed, check the nut to see if it's tight or not, if it's tight, remove the arm & then turn on the wipers. If the shaft moves back & forth it could just be the splines stripped. Happened to me a couple weeks ago when I found I had more than just morning frost. Bought a new arm ($80.00 up here in Canuckistan) and all's well with the wiper arm world. If it doesn't work, then you'll have to remove the cowl to see why, could be the pin to that wiper assembly popped out, or could be the transmission has failed in some way.

    Update:
Arm popped off - repaired. Cleaning off my truck during the recent snow - popped off again. Trying this to get me time until I can figure a good repair.

Finally got a chance to finish the repair - between bitter cold and precipitation it's been over a month...

The repair = a rubber bushing made by Midwest Fasteners, p/n 72632, cost $2.34 - I did have to trim one side of the bushing to allow the ball to seat properly. No drilling required, no nuts/bolts to deal with - trimming was the hardest part, just took time to cut the rubber smoothly.

    Hopefully it lasts...
