I was driving down the highway coming home from work and my windshield started buzzing like a kazoo. Has anyone had this happen on a '12 model. I have an appointment at the dealer on Wednesday to check it out. I recorded it on my I phone so that I could let them hear. It only seems to do it at night when it is cooler. I can make it happen during the day but I have to be going alot faster. At night it starts at around 65 mph.

More than likely its not your windshield leaking, but rather the weatherstrip on your hood. The weak rubber tends to bend back creating a small gap that whistles. You can cure the problem by inserting 1/4 O.D. tubing into the three pieces of weatherstripping under the hood. Make sure to use a soft plastic tubing that wont damage the hood when you close it.

I have already taken care of the weather stripping under the hood. That took care of a slight whistle that the truck was making around 35 to 40 mph. This sound is totally different. It literally sounds like a kazoo and you can feel the windshield vibrating.

Toyota had a tsb to fix it...been happening for years. Mine only does it when going 70 with a good cross wind so i haven't bothered getting it fixed. I've read of guys useing home window screen molding (the rubber stripping) and inserting it into the channel along the top of the windshield to cure it.

Dealership is in the process of removing the windshield and resealing. Hopefully this will take care of problem.

Title says leaking but post says windnoise. So it was an air leak making the noise and you could feel air coming in? Or did water get in? Or is this just the same-shit-different-year kazoo playing windshield trim?

I musta got an alllllllmost correct one because it takes 30mph crosswind while going 85mph before mine will play music...........but no water ever got in.

According to tech there was a gap in the sealant allowing air to blow under the molding causing it to vibrate like a reed. No water, just air getting thru the seal.

Just picked it up from dealership. Paperwork said that it was repaired under T-SB 0062-12. Hopefully this takes care of my problem.

So I took my truck to the dealership for service and they checked the windshield noise..

Now I have to take it back at my earliest convenience so they can put a windshield in it. They said if they took it out to reseal it then they just put a new one in.

Very common problem, dealerships know about this.

Cannot believe they didn't fix this on the '12's

I have the '11 and I had this issue, dealership pulled windshield and re-sealed and replaced the weather striping around mine and I have no more issues..

Of course it took them 3 months to get the weatherstripping in, and by that time I had a rock chip...they aren't allowed to put a window back in that is damaged, so they sold me a new windshield.

Convenient for them, at the time my windshield was only 3 months old...

Oh well, your issue should be solved now.

I've had mine on the highway just a couple of times since the reseal job. So far no noise. Going on a 4 hour road trip tomorrow. I will know for sure then. I did notice that the tech got some of the adhesive on the paint on the front fender. I didn't notice right away because of the black paint. I will be taking it back in for them to clean it off next week.

Went on road trip today and still making noise. It's not quite as loud as it was but it is still irritating. Calling dealer in AM.

Just so you know, my dealer actually replaced the weatherstripping (?) rubber molding around the window, he said there are two different styles and depending on where your truck was made they use a different style at each plant.

They changed it out for a different style and no more issues.

Like I said though, when I went to my dealership, they knew about the issue already and knew exactly what to do to correct it.

Hence why I had to wait 3 months until they could get the part in.
