    Aight guys, so its too early to really get any dates set or roads conditions scoped out. But Ill at least start the discussion now and make a list of those interested (because if we're being honest theres no chance Ill remember otherwise haha) Once we get closer I can pick a date based on conditions and weather. Will be shooting for either a one or two night weekend trip in late Nov or the first few weeks of Dec. Again very dependent and the weather, when the ground freezes, how much snow, etc..

    Heres last years thread if you want to check that out.
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/winter-golden-rd-nmw-trip.577239/

    Theres link in the first post that shows the rough trip route. I would like to push out West more this year which may lend itself to exiting through Rockwood rather than Oxbow, but the basic idea will be the same Im thinking.. A big loop through the snow :D

    Temps can vary quite a bit that time of year so its on you to bring whatever clothing and camping gear you need to be comfortable and warm. Last year it was in the single digits over night.

    List:
    @m603holden Round 2 :D

    Tentative dates: Dec 14-15, shooting to meetup in the Bangor area and be on the road earlyish Saturday morning. Maybe 7 or 8. Shooting to cover a majority of the ground Sat. Leaves Sun for breaking camp, making our way back to civilization, and driving home.

    Comms: CB is good, GMRS/FRS is better (the cheap handheld radios)

    Gas: An extra 5 gallons I would say minimum. I usually bring 10 just because I have two jerry cans

    Required Gear: Whatever you need to stay warm. A snow shovel. Full sized spare and tools to change a tire (eg wheel lock keys if applicable).
    Optional gear: Traction boards are wicked useful if we encounter deeper snow. Air compressor for after the trip. Basic recovery gear (the more you have the better, but we can always share stuff like that). Basic tools are always good too

    Add me as a maybe depending on the dates. I’d definitely be interested if I was available.

    @Dirtridercrf250 see here. How many trucks did you have in your group? I'd like to try and keep this trip to 5 or 6 trucks just due to logistics. Small trails and snow make for an interesting time turning around..

    Depending on our personal commitments, my wife might want to join me on this one (if I can talk here into single digit camping). She loved the 1500 mile loop we made through central maine, over to Acadia, and back down the coastal road.
    I would love to show her Maine, in all it's wintery glory.
