No experience but commenting in case anyone has a recommendation. $100 seems steep for it though, I'll just keep plugging in for that price.

Once you've gotten used to just getting in the car and it being connected for the last 2 years has spoiled me.

$100 is about the difference between a Kenwood with wireless and a wired one.

https://cplay2air.com has been working flawlessly for me. Combined with the wireless charger base no more fricken wires all over the place for me.

I got the Amazon one at $109. It's working fine with an iPhone 12.

More reliable than the Chinese headhunt I have in my work van with wireless CarPlay...which connects only most of the time.

I finally got around to ordering and installing this one https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08P1GWQDB?ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details

It rocks. It links up to my iPhone 12 faster than the Kenwood I had in my Corvette. After I start the Taco and by the time I've put on my sunglasses and seatbelt I have CarPlay.

    5 Stars *****.

Now I have a question. Has anyone taken their radio out of the truck and seen the back of it? I'm wondering if there is a USB port on the back that goes to the USB port on the dash. If so I'm going to mount it behind the head unit and figure a way to run a power only USB port to the dash.

it does go to the back of the head unit, but it is a very specialized, non standard connector. People have had better luck adapting the harness as it goes into the back of the CarPlay USB port there.

The connectors are avail, but generally on the other end of the harness is what you’re able to find. There’s a thread on here somewhere about it, people wanted to swap the CarPlay USB into the console and the power-only port to the dash.

Would this work for those that don't have the factory CarPlay, but have the BeatSonic CarPlay unit? Anyone tried that yet?

    Work in Progress...
I have this also but my GPS is rarely accurate or just stops working... I have went back to wired but would really be interested in a wireless adapter that works...

I wouldn’t do that. You need a way to turn it on and off (plug and unplug it) when it malfunctions or just doesn’t want to cooperate. At least a couple times per week, I need to unplug and plug mine back in to restart it. I just used some double sided tape and stuck it right there out of sight and blends in with the dash. Pretty much only see the plug and a bit of the little wire.

I had not thought of that. I should have seeing as I often had to turn the Kenwood I had on and off to get the CarPlay to work.

I think what I'll do is tape it up somewhere I can use the USB port that is on the other end.

I put a 6600 in and that fixed the wireless, the volume and the speakers. Expensive but damn does it sound good.

Do you mean the Totoya NAV isn't accurate or just stops working?

Here you go, this is the cable to run. Works great. I went this route because I didn’t want the sound quality loss associated with wireless CarPlay.

I have the c2playair one and it works pretty well. It does require me to unplug and plug it back in every so often when it stops working. But overall, it’s convenient if I have a short drive and don’t want to plug my phone into the cable.

So that plugs into the back of the head unit so you can move the port to the glove box correct? What do you do with the port under the climate controls?
