wiring back up cube light question.

I have a set of cube LED install wiring with the back up light, if I want to install a switch to turn it on anytime I need it, is it possible to do it? I need your input and help, Thanks for any advice.

 

Tells us more, like is it on same Back UP Lamp wire or the towing BU Lamp wire?

 

I wire it to the back up lamp wiring.

 

OK, so it only has power when the vehicle is ON. If you need these cube lamps to be ON in any other way the fused power needs to be attached to the battery or to a fuse that is always "hot" (Battery)

You will need a separate circuit and some way to isolate the two circuits so they don't backfeed into each other.

A simpler way is to do the cubes on the switched circuit, allow your regular BU lights to work on their own, and if you need more light when backing, hit your switch.

I have a relay that has 2 diodes coming off 1 termal of the coil, 1 from the reverse light, 1 from the switch. The diodes are necessary to isolate the 2 circuits
