You can always count on @caribe makaira for marked up pics and diagrams. I didn't even look to close at the one I posted, though there is this one I found too.

I'm going to piggyback off of this thread so anyone searching can hopefully find a few answers they're looking for all at once and not have any questions left about wiring up this kind of switch when they're working on this kind of project.

I have some LED fog lights that I'm installing and I have a base model regular cab prerunner so I don't have any wiring already in my truck for fog lights. I ordered this wiring harness as it was suggested to me to be plug and play. Here's the harness:

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00QYIZ890/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I now would have made my own wiring harness after watching these diy videos:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b8GY69Ci7l4

However I have my wiring harness that I already paid for so I might as well try to make it work right?

As it is I have my switch connected like the OP I believe and what is shown in diagram in post #9:

So the only thing that I am unsure of is where to connect the hot wire (red) that comes off of the switch connector:

As suggested in post #10 I should put an add a circuit coming from the fuse panel in the cabin, which is what both of these videos suggested as well. Should I cut off the end of that red wire coming off of the connector and solder an add a circuit to it and plug it into a fuse terminal in the cabin fuse panel? If so, is there a good fuse terminal to use that has power even when the ignition is switched off? Thank you.

If you want the added lamps to be one anytime then no reason to mod the harness, it's meant to have juice at all times.

The red + wire should trigger the relay. From relay to your light or whatever you running. In other words. Your taking in a small load, sending it to your relay. Which then the relay sends it to your light which needs juice. Make sure you have a relay installed. They are pretty simple. each relay is labeled so you can google for pin outs. I recommend 40amp relay.

 Thank you. I should have been more clear the harness has a relay for the lights, I was only concerned about the wire that is powering the switch in the cabin.

Right. There should be a 12v source going to the switch. Then the switch once flipped sends power to relay. Thus relay sending power to light ( 40 Amps)
