Heading towards Mountain, WI south branch Oconto for some brookies this coming week

That's a great area! There are a ton of forest roads that are fun, but easy. And, the Pipeline is FR55552. I haven't actually fished a lot in that area, but I've had generally good luck when I have tried.

What's funny is that it originally referred to bass guitar, as I was a wannabe Rockstar in my younger days. But, I did get into fishing pretty hardcore starting in my 20's. Bass have been one of my favorite fish to fish for.

It was! It wasn't that long (17.5"), but very thick! And the color was amazing!

Here’s a few places

Little spot near downtown Burlington. Right next to the Burlington Municipal Airport. Bass just roll over early AM.
I may have stopped during my 15 minute morning break. I can not confirm nor deny I was fishing today during work… break time!



Hitting the Oak Creek Powe Plant Pier on Lake Michigan.




I didn’t catch them but we went to the counting at the Root River steelhead facility
Its amazing watching them run up the ladder.

 

79 miles straight across Lake Michigan from my house in Racine to Holland, Michigan on a charter at 5:00 AM EST.







We caught a few.

 

It was a blast. We landed 12.

The first mate was netting fish #1 and banged the hook out. It was a huge Coho.

My wife asked what I ate for breakfast. I told her PBR and Lite.


She said where did you get light peanut butter?

 

Looks like the lake was perfect.
Next month I'm doing a charter out of Port Washington. Been doing it every year for the last 12 years, except last year,covid.
