For future reference, BP-51s are coilovers so height is adjustable very easily.

I knew that. But, I got the impression that internal bypass shocks were position sensitive, so running them lower than the specified lift height would not allow them to perform properly.

I've heard great things about the ride quality. But, I ultimately decided that digressive valving would be more suitable for me, which was one factor that lead me back to Bilstein.

It's a good point about the ibp. I didn't know that they were. Yeah usually for ibp, the zones (either a 2 piston design or actual channels) are quite large in relation to the motion ratio of tacomas/4runners, etc. so adjusting the height isn't going to make a significant difference. You must like the handling nature of digressive valving? Does the sway bar not work enough for you or do you have it removed?

I would say yes. A lot of it is comparable but I really want the 12-24mm 2.8 G master for architecture and it’s 3 grand plus tax lol. Average of the high quality G masters are around $1500, and anything zeiss is ~1k. Idk how I found my way into this Wisconsin group either but yall seem cool so aint mad about it

Yes, I do. I have to drive 3 hours or more to get anywhere fun, and I wanted the least roley-poley ride possible. It worked. Even with a lift and 33's, it handles better than stock.

And, no, I did not remove the sway bars. I actually have extra rigid sway bars with KDSS. The sway bars only help with side to side roll, though. The Bilsteins got rid of the brake dive. This thing handles like a Ferrari compared to my Tacoma. Even with the extra weight.

Yep, if you want a more planted feel on the road and less roll, digressive will definitely help right out of the box if you don't want to revalve. I usually recommend to people to let the sway bar do the work that way you are not sacrificing ride comfort from the shocks, but glad its working out for you

Like I said, the sway bars do nothing for the nose dive and overall ride quality. And, everything I've read said that progressive shocks tend to feel mushy, which I already had with stock suspension.

I'm not sure what sacrifice you're talking about. I'm actually quite satisfied. They're harsh in certain situations, but not enough to bother me.

Of course, a custom valved set of Kings would probably be nicer. But, I wasn't looking to spend $4K and have to rebuild in 2 years. I might go this route once I'm not putting 30K miles a year on it.

I do like the look of skinnies as well. I'll do some more digging in the link above to see what I can fit on my stock Sport wheels.
The first thread I found on running skinnies on sport most of the replys were members with aftermarket wheels.

The G master lenses are definitely top notch. I tend to shoot landscape and city scape so that 12-24mm would be sweet. That said I made the conscious decision a few years back to keep the hobby a hobby and not take on a second job. The downside is it makes it harder to justify spending that kind of money.

I can probably have a few driveway beers. I got some Black Friday shopping to do in the Am... should be back by noon. Looks like a high of 43°.

If it’s too cold we can head to the man cave but...... some might have a allergic reaction.
