315 STT Pros are on, pretty stoked on them.

    Pros:
    • Much better traction off-road than any tire I’ve been on so far
    • Additional clearance also quite noticeable over the 295 Hankooks I’ve been running for the past 5 years.
    • Look badass
    Cons:
    • More rubbing. I preemptively sledged the firewall and chopped the body mount back, still need to do a bit more but all in all not bad. Rub the frame, UCA and limit strap clevis at lock, going to swap my .75” spacers for 1.25 and throw the .75s on the rear. Rear only barely rubbed the body at full stuff, spacers should remedy this.
    • Biggest negative, truck is slow as fuck again, even with 4.88 gears. Can’t hammer through washes in 2nd like I used to, maintaining speed on slight hills, head wind etc. has constant down shifting. Sucks. 5.29s are not going to happen (soon), maybe with a new axle build down the road.
    • Sling mud all over, blasted myself several times with the window down.
Broke them in on Chinaman this weekend, love that trail. Ran it solo, pretty quick without a group, got stuck behind some Jeeps for a bit but other than that not too busy. Got the rear diff stuck on a rock the waterfall and had to winch, other than that had a blast.

Then camped up at a spot @Squeaky Penguin and I had 4 years earlier, first time camping with the little guy and he did great.

Sunday morning cruised around the 4 Mile area in the mud to see if I could get the tires to rub at speed, no such luck, which I was stoked on. Took a pic in almost the same spot 5 years earlier.

Enough to make it a lot of fun!
Welcome to the 35 team. I chopped my cab mout a ton not to long ago and am still finding I rub a little (in reverse) . I think I might take the flap disk to them and see if I can make the clearance happen. Also found one spot i missed with the BFH.

it's crazy how much each inch makes a difference in tire size... i remember when i was working my way up in tire size hitting kane creek on 33s, 34s and 35s... every time those ledges seem smaller and the small bumps roll over much easier...

Sure, feel free to gather parts and come install ;) V8 and tranny swap if anything, but one of my current two would have to blow up first, which fortunately (unfortunately?) isn’t likely.

    Some assembly required.

Yeah, I’ve used Chinaman as my gauge, first go was with 285 duratracs in 2013 open/open and I got worked. Trail was way easier back then too.

One day, fabricated 9”, 4 link and coil overs is the eventual plan. Hope I can keep this one in one piece until then.

Got most of a rack put together this weekend, need to grab a few more pieces of 1” strapping to complete the tent mounts, being designed for easy removal, the tent will bolt directly to crossmembers that will bolt to the rack instead of the intermediate rails the tent comes with. A second tier on the front is coming later once I receive the case that will go in front of the tent.

Shout out to @TMFF for help with the bending.

Damn your skills! I would have loved a low profile rack like this instead of having to shell out $800

Not a ton of skills, just determination (to save money).

Next Sunday afternoon/evening, the 16th, should work for cutting up your truck if that works for you.

Transfer case is on its last legs, makes grinding slipping noises when a tire starts to slip and acts like the center diff isn’t locked, which resulted in some awesome open/open action this weekend (rear is leaking oil and the air line is clogged, front locked just transferred all power to the rear), when a pair of lockers was really needed. Think it’s time to start saving for an Atlas.

Thanks, working well so far. It’s a Roam like the tent, also working great so far, nice to have easy access to some stuff without opening the tail gate.

    Mmmm K.

Rip truck apart and not have to put back together mod.

‘14 GS350 AWD, Starfire Pearl, 56k on it. Mint, dealer serviced its entire life. Stock other than a dark ass tint all the way around.
