I live in the Bay Area, and there are a lot of 3rd Tacomas on the road. I don't know what caused these trucks to be sitting on the side of the road. I hope this trend doesn't continue.

The only other vehicle that I have seen consistently on the side of the road or being towed is the Telsa Model X.

Both the Model X and the Tacoma are very popular in this area, so it could just be that there are so many out here. A few failures with so many on the road is normal. However, the Model X is definitely not a reliable vehicle based reliability reports.

Japan gave America a chance to fully design and manufacture the Tacoma. I bet the 4th gen will not be helmed by america again.

Breakdowns aren't really a trend for any gen of the Tacomas.

    Flat tires.

    :burnrubber:

Only reliability issue for breakdown was cps on a few 2016s.
    Nothing now.
Forgot the radio resetting was a reliabilty issue.

I hope so. Toyota has been a great brand for me in the past. I never had to work-on or take my Toyota's to the shop for anything.

After seeing the specs for the new Supra and the new TRD pros, am just not sure what they are trying to do anymore.

It seems like the Second Gen Tacoma pro is the going to be the last bad-ass Toyota vehicle. TRD doesn't mean anything anymore since they killed the Supercharger program.

If my Tacoma dies for any reason before 100K, I think I am done with Toyotas for good.

Am I so lucky to see two outlier breakdowns on the side of the road? What are the odds of that happening?

And your point exactly is? Hate to be that guy but these threads and posts are getting old. YOU are not having an issue with yours correct?

And if YOURS dies before 100k congrats on beating the crap out of a taco. And I’m sure you’ll end up with the same thing on any other make/model. Take care of your vehicle and perform proper routine maintenance and you’ll be golden.

    Also, Welcome to TW

I lived in the Bay Area 7 years. Lots of smart people there. Usually they understand probability ....

I am also tired of these threads too, but seeing the CR reports, the constant reliability issue threads, and the bad reviews on youtube..... I can help but wonder ts it there a legitimate trend here?

What's the probability that I witnessed two events that had a .01 chance happening?

the only thing I go by is how many I see in the used car lot.. and how long they sit. The 2nd gens fly the 3rd sit... and sit and sit.. and there are a LOT of 3rd gens in the used car lots.. most likely its the issues and the
engine transmission combo driving issues that are to fault. Its also WAY WAY too expensive.
