Why am I excited? Because I now have a reason to get a new bumper. Looking for suggestions for the best bang for the buck. I don't think I want a tire or jerry can carrier. I am looking for a good looking, functional bumper that is bolt on. What do you guys say?

Pelfreybilt standard bumper. Looks awesome, very functional, plus they're having a Labor Day promotion

    A thing or two...
@Mobtown Offroad is doing a labor day sale and close enough that you can go pick it up. You'll have to pay MD tax if you pick up, but that's a hell of a lot cheaper than freight shipping.

That's a great point. I didn't realize they were so close.

I like my fab fours premium rear bumper. It retains the stock trailer hitch, if that is important to you.

dang i like that, how much did that set you back?

personally im looking around for a new rear bumper as well. mine is starting to rust right by the license plate and rather than spend the money to repaint it i figured it was time for a beefier upgrade.

I like the fab fours premium because it keeps the existing hitch, and looks like a good fit around the rear fender.
Also looked at Schrockworks it comes with an integrated hitch and some heavier tow points, but dont know how well it shapes to the fender. http://shrockworks.com/Rear-Bumper-...4th-Generation-Tacoma-2005-2015-pr-16261.html

It didn't cost me anything, because the guy who rear-ended me had to pay for it (his insurance). I did have to buy it, and then got re- imbursed.
We end up getting raped here in Canada for aftermarket parts, but it was still cheaper than the stock bumper! I think the stock bumper with all the trim prices was quoted at almost $1400 cdn. I paid $1280 cdn for the fab fours.
I like the way it fits, I like the way looks. It's really heavy duty and solid. Like you the reason I got it, is because it keeps the stock hitch.
The Shrockwork one looks pretty good to me. I don't think you can go wrong with either.

Great looking bumper.. I'm going to be buying the fab fours one soon too. Was reading about a guy an hour or two away from me who has been rear ended 3 times with his Fab Fours rear and it barely has a dent in it.

Same shit happened to me. Anytime I need my truck moved I do it myself now haha. Theres a dent about the size of an apple on the drivers side part of my bumper.. Not really that bad tbh. Im not gonna get into how bad the damage was on the car she hit though... my dent was nothing compared to it.

Definitely take a look at the fab fours rear, decent price for how it looks and theyre really sturdy/strong.

Good to know it holds up, but hopefully I never have to test it, although today I wanted back into an idiot in a parking lot today to test it, lol.

1500 dollar quote from 4wheel parts for the rear bumper. Yikes. Any suggestions on where I can get it cheaper. Crossing into the US is 1.5 hours away so it is an option

I believe they are in Toronto, and I think they had a choice for pick up too. If you call, and talk to someone, they can probably tell you. And if you ask, they may be able to tell you when next sale is, or just give you a deal. I was past thier sale date when I ordered mine, but the guy I talked to gave it to me anyway.
