    Look at build!
The seals were gone in mine and the passenger side boot had 2 quarter sized hole in it pouring fluid costing me around a quart every 2 days so i replaced the whole rack and both outer tierods for 320, install myself.

So if I don't fix this for a while how will I be affected? Will I die or just have loose steering?

just keep toping it off and you should be fine till you can fix it, irode with mine leaking for 4-6 months just had to add fluid like crazy and it finally got so bad to where i was using a quart a day, but just dont let it go dry or it will screw your PS pump up to
