Many of us on here have a tacoma or toyota due to reliability

So, what is the worst car you have ever owned and why? I will share shortly, but I will give a little hint first......... Renault Alliance.

    Share your horror stories...

Dude, how in the hell did you come to own a Renault?! Good God.

As for me... I don't think I've owned a bad vehicle, and that includes two Silverados with over 120k mi when I sold them. They're still on the road too. Been lucky I guess.

    2006 Jeep GRAND Cherrokee

Bought it new, transmission failed me twice in the first 6000 miles. Breaks needed replaced at 14000 miles.

I have owned 14 jeeps but that was the worst ever.

You just can't trust a car after it leaves your family stranded twice, replaced it around the 14 month mark.

I lost $7500 when I traded it in on a 4Runner (v-8 sr5) and have not been back to a Jeep dealership since.

    Vehicle:
2013 MGM TRD 4x4 DCLB Trail Limo
2005 Dodge Dakota 4x4........I guess there seems to be a pattern with dodge-jeep-chrylser. I bought it brand new in 2005 with 7 miles on it. These are the problems I had throughout its life, and does not include normal maintenance things like brakes, tires, and oil changes (keep in mind that I only went offroad twice with it)-------

7-36,000 miles (covered under the bumper to bumper warranty):
    1. Tierods replaced
    2. Upper and lower control arms replaced
    3. 2 gas tanks
    4. Rear suspension
    5. 6 check engine lights
    6. 3 airbag lights
    7. Universal steering joint replaced
    8. Steering column replaced
    9. And a mystery vibration in the rear
    10. Cracked rotor replaced.
    11. Ball joints replaced

36,000-72,000 miles (under the so called powertrain warranty)

    1. 3 more check engine lights
    2. Another gas tank replaced
    3. 2 more tierods replaced
    4. Radiator replaced
    5. Defective alternator
    6. Rear drum seize then explode
    7. Another set of ball joints.
    8. Front sway bar broke in half
On top of normal maintenance stuff

After 72,000 miles (now I'm completely on my own)

    1. Transmission rebuild
    2. 7 more check engine lights
    3. 3 tierods
    4. 2 more ball joints
    5. Frame rust holes the size of quarters just started to develop.
    6. Bye bye air conditioner
    etc. etc. etc.

I sold it to carmax at 137,000 miles because it need $2,500 in work just to get it to pass inspection. I will never buy another dodge product EVER AGAIN because of it.

bilstein set at 1.75, Racho 5000 rear with 4 leaf kit, floor mats, high lift jack, pull hook in hitch, bed rail corner braces, severe duty brake pads and devil horns on the grill....
I would guess a old Subaru I was given that was worn OUT at 80k miles...or a chevy conversion van that ate a 700R4 Transmission every 50k, or a FJ60 Land Cruiser that failed two motors in 80k miles...

Sold my wife's perfect low mileage 2004 Tacoma limited for a 2005 f150.Worst mistake I ever made.Had so many problems inc.cam phasers, hundreds of dollars to just replace the spark
plugs and many switches and more.I had to get rid of it and last week ended up buying her another Tacoma,a 2015. Expensive mistake. No more Fords.

Wow I am seeing allot of Ford's and Jeeps. Let me as to the Ford camp...

1992 Ford Mustang. Had it for 2 years, in the 2 years sunk more than double what I paid for it into repairs. And probably drove the shops courtesy vechile more than the mustang.

So come to think of it my first car wasn't a mustang it was a mid 80s Buick Riveria.

    1991 Ford Ranger 4wd

4k miles - manual transmission locked up
40k miles - transmission locked up again. Same issue. Synchronizer blew up
    Windshield started leaking
    Radio started eating cassette tapes
    Cruise control quit
4wd wouldn't disengage without turning off truck
Fuel gauge went to empty and stayed there
Was told that the front end couldn't be properly aligned because some shims were missing

Traded it in for a 1996 Toyota Tacoma extra cab ... Never had any issue with that Tacoma

    Wish I still had it

However ... My wife's 2007 mustang gt has had few mechanical issues in 150k miles
Still looks and drives great ... interior has been most of what I have fixed
Battery and alternator, and mixing door actuator for the air cond has been it so far
