I will definitely let her know of you

That does make a lot of sense. We literally haven't been able to find the same truck since we lost the private party deal. She's even been looking out of state. And I think my past experience goes to show that private parties can be shady as well. I actually feel good buying from the Toyota dealer and the 8 hours drive doesn't bother me.

That seems about right. I could have gotten a really nice F150 brand new for the same price I paid for my used 15' DC Sport. It was from a Ford dealer and the manager is a friend. Pretty crazy the price discrepancies....

This truck was likely around 25 MSRP. Autotrader claims $23,215.00 + the SR5 Package. They also claim the V6 model was originally just $1500 more than the I4

Generally, pickups do hold value more than passenger cars, and Toyota trucks in particular keep very good resale values. It's not an investment but it is a smart buy :)

$20k for a 6 year old 4 banger? Will they at least give you lube?

You make it sound like I'm buying a civic. This is a 4wd truck to be driven daily in the Sierras. I don't believe there is the same demand for a 2wd as there is for 4wd.

~$16k-$17k seems right to me. But I guess it all depends on how badly you want it.

Nothing is worse than knowing that you overpaid for something after the fact.
