Why don't you try to sit in it and drive it before you buy it?

Here are the interior dimensions for the 2001 reg cab:
    Interior Dimensions
    Passenger Capacity 2
    Front Head Room (in) 38.5
    Front Leg Room (in) 41.7
    Front Shoulder Room (in) 53.9
    Front Hip Room (in) 49.4

Here are the dimensions for a 2nd gen, which I know some pretty big guys fit in:
    Interior Dimensions
    Front Hip Room (in) 53.6
    Front Shoulder Room (in) 58.1
    Front Leg Room (in) 41.7
    Front Head Room (in) 40.0
    Passenger Capacity 3

I know here in Hawai'i we've got some pretty big guys that fit in those old taco's.

I wouldn't purchase a vehicle without actually seeing if I like it and test driving it.

I'm 6'1 and I sit quite comfortably in mine. I also don't have the seat all the way back. There is a surprising amount of room in there.

The problem is that "fitting in one" is HIGHLY subjective. As we've seen here, there's at least one guy who's 6'4" 235 and fits in one fine. But I've seen others who are 5'10" complaining they're too small.

So, you're going to need to sit in one yourself.

    this right here, lol

we tend to ignore the minor little shortcomings of our trucks when we're really enthusiastic about them.

Like Jeep owners: "yeah, that's supposed to leak oil, that's why I carry more." :D

Some people have tall torsos and shorter legs, even taller people. Best thing to do is sit in one. As I’m sure you know, just avoid vehicles with sunroofs. Tacoma’s do have a pretty low seat position compared to other trucks/SUVs which helps.

Doesn't even have to be a 4x4, really. As long as it's a first gen, all the bodies are pretty much the same. Minor differences in how big it "feels" with things like bench seats or whatever, but just find any 1st gen tacoma and you can get a good idea.

It all comes down to how your built !

Do you have long legs or are you long in the torso ?

The only real way is to try it on for size.

I and my wife have a 98 Reg Cab and an 04 EX cab. I'm 5'9". I won't drive her reg cab more than a few dozen miles. Its very uncomfortable compared to the ex cab.

In short, you are out of your mind if you think you are going to me comfortable in a regular cab.

I'm 6'2" with a 34-36 inseam. I have the 60/40 seat in a Ex cab. To operate the accelerator, my leg is in a very uncomfortable position. I'm hoping seat lifts from a group buy on here will give me an extra inch. Its painful when driving for more than 40 minutes.

I want to drive the truck to a Toyota meet that is roughly 3.5 hours away. I don't think I can make it from the pain.

Only one way to really know. Test fit.

Just use a bit of creativity, like

Easy Peasy. Taking comments from others based on their comfort isn't the best idea. You have to try on you.
