Trying to get some opinions. I love my Tacoma, but have been wanting to get a 90's LC or a 4Runner to toy around with. I have a pretty good handle of mechanical work, so I was looking around locally. This lady has this one for sale, asking $800 obo. It's been for sale for about 2 months or so. She said it has a blown head gasket, which I understand is pretty common on the 3.0 v6. That's not the part that bothers me... The part that bothers me is that the timing cover is off and they just let it sit and rust. Do you guys think it's worth offering $500 for it the way it sits? The interior looks pretty clean for the age. I haven't seen it in person, but just curious. Thanks!

If the frame is completely solid, then yeah, I would probably give $500. If not, then no. Yank that pos 3.0 out, find you a 2 or 3rz and put in it. The 3.0 ain't worth the trouble of rebuilding. Just my .02. Good luck.

Thanks for the replies. I definitely don't want to get involved in a crazy basket case like this. I might keep an eye out for something that costs a little more but is in running condition.

I feel bad letting such a cool ride go to waste. I bet they will eventually just scrap it or park it in the woods and let it rot.
