Oh a simple yes or no is sufficient. No need to make it complicated.

I almost always buy used, so sometimes i cant get exactly what i wanted. I love my truck and would buy another providing they sort some shit out (tranny shifting, diff noise). I drive a lot of hwy and those are very real concerns. All the other small issues i can deal with on my own. Really digging the cement colour and maybe upgrade to a Pro....

I have added iStep running boards, a Bestop rear mounted TrekStep, a BakFlip MX4, a Pop N Lock Power Tailgate Actuator, Chrome tailgate insert letters and MattGekeo LEDs
I have a 2017 Limited that I added a BakFlip MX4, Side Steps and a bed step to. And currently have a Pop N Lock and a set of Gecko's LED bed lights ordered. Those are my only additions but the Limited came loaded with a lot of options anyway. Would not be that hard to find one or upgrade one as a replacement. I would certainly try to get an exact match.

Yes I would buy another Tacoma.
I am very happy with my 17 SR.
If I changed anything it would only be an upgrade for a V6 and cruise.

Only 2mo and 3k miles in but yes. That said, I SETTLED. I settled for a truck that has a poor transmission (I give it a C-), a Nav system that is too intrusive with its in-motion lock out (C+), and is not offered with a turbo v6.

The fact that I still dropped nearly $40k on a loaded truck reinforces why Toyota will NOT address these issues. The unquestionable Toyota reliability, solid 4x4, good styling, and excellent resale value won me over.

It will be “yes” with the help of the ShiftSense Pro and now that I could get leather in the TRD Off Road. It would be a “Hell Yes” if Toyota would properly program the transmission.

A side note. I took the Taco in today for the 10,000 mile service. I left the OBD II splitter cable plugged in with the SSP and Hum. They never said a word.

I've personally never seen an advantage to leasing. I did the math at one point. Since I kept my last truck 13 years, it would have cost me almost $50k more to continually lease during that timeframe.

...I know nothing about leasing but I've heard the term "lease to own." Wouldn't you just have chosen a plan like that to eventually own the vehicle if you chose to keep it past paying for its value?

That's if you like the truck and have no issues with it and don't feel like upgrading.

Leasing gives you options. You can dump your old ride and get into a new truck after your lease term or if you have no issues with it and really love it you can buy it out at the end of term. The residual for Tacoma is usually well under the used market price. For instance my truck has a buyout of $18k CAD after 5 years. Now I personally drive low miles (like 11,000km a year), trust me you are not going to find a 5 year old TRD Sport premium with only 55,000km for $18k CAD, like anywhere. You get a lot of that equity back if you decide to buyout (which is the plan for me unless something goes majorly wrong).

Sure you might lose a grand or two over the whole term if you chose to lease + buy vs. just financing but financing doesn't give you any options to get out early other than selling it yourself or trading and you always lose a few grand on trades.

Honestly it works out to being the same in the long run. The only time you are really losing money is if you are a serial leaser and just constantly hop into a new lease after the end of every term. Then yeah, you're paying a lot to always be in a modern ride.

My plan is to retire about 10 years earlier than most people do. I just can't leave $50k out there because I want a new vehicle all the time. I realize my situation is different from most. My current truck will hopefully last 10 years without issues. If I feel it won't, the Tacomas resale will net me fine. I wouldn't lease a Tacoma for any reason. But that's my situation.

I had a 2000 SR5 extra cab manual tan. I am crying because I miss her but after 16 years mostly at the beach I didn’t have $$ to fix her up and get something more reliable.

I got a 2017 Sport orange, beautiful and can’t see well offroad but automatic because my joints just aren’t what they were.i can’t drive an auto well and didn’t have features I realized after a few adventures I may need so GONE!

Had a new 2017 offroad on the lot clearanced for the 18’s and so I traded.yes an auto also, but psychologically believed I have more control now with the features and may be able to recover if I get in a bad situation.

I would by my 2000 new in a heartbeat!
So far I would by the offroad again and NOT the Sport..

I love my gen 1. After 17 years, its a better truck than my 17 6MT PRO.

How does one drive an auto "well?"
