What good will that do? They have vans that can see through your house now. You can't hide your guns and if you do, you can't use them so WTF is the point? If you think it's time to hide them, it's time to use them.

If you are referring to terahertz cameras, those don't have the resolution to detect firearms in a house from the street.

Besides, the SCOTUS just incorporated the 2nd Amendment to the states back in June, so we don't have to worry about confiscation for the time being.

We're dealing with hypotheticals in this thread. At least I was. So, hypothetically speaking, why would anyone hide their guns? What if our founding fathers just hid their guns and went about their business? It makes no sense to me.

I happen to know off seven of these supposed ass clowns who died in Iraq in 2009 while we were deployed there and four who died in 2004 in our brigades first deployment to OIF. So burnt_tiger if you would, please STFU. Yeah back in the 70's and 80's the guard was a joke but since the GWOT has kicked off WE have come along way and many of my Brothers and Sisters who are Citizen Soldiers have made the ultimate sacrifice for this country so please respect them and do not generalize "The Guard" due to some experience you have had. [rant over]

Now to the question at hand. I voted over my dead body but I wouldn't plan on dying. Personally I never seeing it coming to this unless America has gone completely to hell. Which would probably be full on civil war of some sort or a revolution scenario. Second to all of those who think a rag tag group of individuals couldn't put up a fight to our military. Please turn your attention to Iraq and Afghanistan where we have been actively fighting an indigenous force for over 9 years on two fronts. Yes some are foreign fighters and some are highly trained but there are some still who are Achmed the farmer and have just taken up arms for AQI or the Taliban. Sadly for us they are sometimes successful in their operations against us. And if the government did use federal forces on us it would be a violation of and someone correct me if I am wrong the Posse Comatatus act or clause. I am in the Guard and if the country had progressed to that state then I do not think there would really be any organization left. I for one would probably be going somewhere safe with my family. Definately not trying to round up firearms from those doing the same. Someone asked how a military person would feel confiscating guns from citizens. I for one am not going to go around kicking in joe citizens door to take his gun its his constitutional right to have it and I am here to defend his constituitional rights. We take an oath to defend the constitution against all enemies. So if congress or the president is hypothetically asking us to do something unconstituitional doesn't that make them in the wrong and technically a enemy of the constitution???

It's already happening. Retail purchase requires filling out a federal form. Wait for the taxes on ammo. CA doesn't allow mail-order purchase of ammo and requires thumbprint for retail purchase. VA is asking vets at hospitals if they are feeling suicidal and will share info with other federal agencies, so heaven forbid you tell them you have anxiety over wars in Iraq/Afghanistan because now you don't meet all the criteria on the fed form to buy a gun. Many cases have been won by feds on raids where people supposedly had excessive amounts of guns or ammo. Supreme Court now makes decisions based on sentiment (not on the Constitution) so they are no help. The fed will come out with some sort of excise tax or other rule that may not eliminate gun purchase and ownership, but will otherwise make it out of reach to most people.

Georgia has no registration..are you a member of www.GeorgiaCarry.org ?? best 15$ you can spend to lobby to fix GA's laws in fact they were the ones who lobbied for the repeal of Georgia's 140+year old racist public gather clause. the law was a left over Jim Crow law(as all gun control laws are)

The Constitution doesnt give me anything my rights are inherent in my humanity and are from our creator....the 2nd amendment only is a restraint on government....

GeorgiaCarry.org successfully lobbied to get rid of a 140 year old racist law and thats a problem for you?? why should i not be able to defend myself anywhere i go?? Since government doesnt have that responsibility(see Warren V D.C.) if you think off limits places are ok then you apparently think you have a higher claim to my life than i hold myself?? if i lived anywhere near atlanta like yourself id move to Kennessaw where it is mandatory to own a gun

did you know that when gun laws were non existent that crime was lower...in fact the wild west was way safer than modern life

To add to Rmodel65's fine post; what RebelRoad also doesn't seem to understand is that those bad guys will still have guns, no matter if we didn't have the 2nd amendment or not.
Those bad guys buy their guns illegally from other bad guys who traffic guns, which means that the good guys now have no guns to defend themselves with against the bad guys.

The reality of the situation is that no matter what law they pass to restrict guns and ammo, the bad guys will always have plenty of both, because they don't buy guns and ammo like the good guys do.
So the more laws they pass restricting Guns and Ammo, the more bad it is for the good guys.

Dood, you REALLY need to check your references because you're way off.

AB2358 Ammo sales regs in CA was defeated (http://nramemberscouncils.com/legs.shtml?year=2010&summary=ab2358)

VA CANNOT share mental health information (let alone other medical information) without your consent - HIPAA violation that results in huge fines.

Actually, last I checked the Supreme Court overruled several state/local laws banning firearms (D.C. and Chi-town iirc). These decisions had NOTHING to do with sentiment and everything to do with constitutionality.

What is hilarious (more scary I guess) is that theres all these people talking about things which they dont understand or fully comprehend. We've had a ton of discussions about weapons, politics, healthcare, medicine, and other issues here at work and it never ceases to amaze me how many people have no clue what they're talking about and just use the latest catch phrases and talking points of their favorite 24-hr news network, club, group, or whatever. It's one thing to interpret something differently and another to state completely false information as if it's fact.

This is what is retarded about CA. They feel that if you ban weapons or ammo the state will be safer. What they dont seem to realize is that laws only affect those who follow them!
