    Libya is a perfect example of what happens when the people aren't armed. The government can enslave and torture it's own people into submission and bondage. With the citizens being armed the government acts in behalf of the people.

    That's what the Brits and the Aussies thought, too.

    And don't forget Katrina. Right here in the good ol' US of A, police and National Guard went house to house and siezed firearms from law-abiding citizens. And it took a Supreme Court ruling to force authorities to eventually return them to their owners.

    I guess you don't keep up with current events. The SCOTUS recently ruled in Heller v.District of Columbia that the 2nd amendment guarantees a personal right to keep and bear arms, unrelated to any organized militia.

    From Justice Scalia's majority opinion:

    • "The Second Amendment protects an individual right to possess a firearm unconnected with service in a militia, and to use that arm for traditionally lawful purposes, such as self-defense within the home."

    Honestly, Its hard to reply to this without going a little postal.

    USA is one if not the best SUPER Power in the world. And it's not just because of our guns.

    What people like you fail to realize is exactly how much we do for other countries(the world). You only point out the negative thoughts that you have absorbed from the media. Not every American is running around on a bucking bronco shooting guns in the air wildly and shooting people for fun. You my friend have the wrong idea.

    Freedom is a beautiful thing. If i choose to carry a gun in my truck, I can do that in the U.S. The gun was invented here in the U.S. and the gun has changed the world. We are not mindless drones and will not submit to government control(like canada).

    I feel sorry for the people at your party that dont want to come to the U.S., obviously they dont know a damn thing about the U.S and I for one am glad they dont want to come here. You think the US is the only country with drug problems? Do some research into Candas drug problem.

    All countries have Drug problems, All coutries have Guns (legaly or illegaly), All countries have idiots.

    As stated in amendment 2 of the bill of rights " As a well regulated militia, being necesssary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed". Plain and simple, it will not happen. The only way to reduce the number of firearms is to tax the he'll out of bullets. So less and less people own guns. I bet many criminals would think twice about a drive by shooting or such if bullets cost $5 a piece, hypothetically speaking. I guess the only solution is to bring out primitive weapons such as the bow and arrow. This tried and true method will always be around
