You don't get it at all dude. Its not a matter of playing cops and robbrs. It is a constitutional right. There is nothing more to it than that, if you don't like it don't buy a gun. It is that simple. Every study shows that America is the safest place from crime in the world. It is a right protected by the very document that makes America America the sooner you get used to that the sooner you could focus your energies on something more fruitful, like basket weaving.

Ok so three people died because some dude was a fucking nut and stole a gun and decided to go commit a crime with it. You think having a gun enabled him? He would have done it even if he had to use a knife or a hammer. Here is a video in retort to yours. Wanna see where an un-armed public can and always does end up?

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FZLlGPlylf8

    Where is the connection?

Regulations Against Jews' Possession of Weapons

    11 November 1938

With a basis in §31 of the Weapons Law of 18 March 1938 (Reichsgesetzblatt I, p.265), Article III of the Law on the Reunification of Austria with Germany of 13 March 1938 (Reichsgesetzblatt I, p. 237), and §9 of the Führer and Chancellor's decree on the administration of the Sudeten-German districts of 1 October 1938 (Reichsgesetzblatt I, p 1331) are the following ordered:

    §1
Jews (§5 of the First Regulations of the German Citizenship Law of 14 November 1935, Reichsgesetzblatt I, p. 1333) are prohibited from acquiring, possessing, and carrying firearms and ammunition, as well as truncheons or stabbing weapons. Those now possessing weapons and ammunition are at once to turn them over to the local police authority.
    §2
Firearms and ammunition found in a Jew's possession will be forfeited to the government without compensation.
    §3
The Minister of the Interior may make exceptions to the Prohibition in §1 for Jews who are foreign nationals. He can entrust other authorities with this power.
    §4
Whoever willfully or negligently violates the provisions of §1 will be punished with imprisonment and a fine. In especially severe cases of deliberate violations, the punishment is imprisonment in a penitentiary for up to five years.
    §5
For the implementation of this regulation, the Minister of the Interior waives the necessary legal and administrative provisions.
    §6
This regulation is valid in the state of Austria and in the Sudeten-German districts.
    Berlin, 11 November 1938
    Minister of the Interior
    Frick

So please just get over it, guns are here to stay and no amount of gun control is going to stop violence. None. It has proven again and again a disarmed society is a enslaved society. Even the people from CNN agree that gun control does not do anything to stop crimes.

Free yourself from your ignorance and learn the truth, pick up a gun and learn about it.

You don't need guns to sway the government in your favor just a more educated nation but since our education system is as advanced as a box of rocks you get people that live pay check to pay check voting against their own interests. I understand people have gun related hobbies but you do not need an ak47 to go quail hunting. Your comparison of gun regulation to fascist Germany is quite ridiculous.

Another extremely naive statement. People are not nearly as gullible when it comes to firearm ownership as they once were, too many lessons have been learned the hard way...

Sure you might not need it to go quail hunting but we have the right to own one via the 2nd amendment. If you don't believe in the constitution go somewhere where guns are banned and see how you like it.

have you tired this? Its extremley exciting, not to mention it helps out AMERICA. By shooting more AMMO the demand goes up, which means companys have to make more, meaning needing more people to make the product to keep up with the demand.....USA's debt solved.......

Ok so when talking about guns we will bring up drug crimes that have nothing to do with guns? Now lets look at Mexico and its homicide rate and compare it to its gun laws, here is a hint, they have HIGH gun control. South Africa has stricter gun control laws than America and look at its murder rate. What is even funnier is the UK with all of its gun laws has a much higher rate of crime per capita than America as well. While Switzerland which has almost no controls on guns (you can still own full autos) at all has the lowest crime rate in all of Europe as well as THE LOWEST murder rate in all of Europe, so your graphs really only prove our point. What does Switzerland do different than everyone else? They educate people on how to use guns and guns have become a positive part of their culture. The other pink elephant in the room is there are very few people of certain demographics that tend to skew these numbers greatly. Infact I would say these certain demographics influence these statistics directly. I would come right out and say it but I would be considered racist and being half black, I don't take to kindly to that.

you didnt specify in your post...you said, "Every study shows that America is the safest place from crime in the world." There were no stipulations to your claim.

My stipulations should have included "in places outside of the inner city in which guns are heavily controlled." Come on man, who is the murder capitol in America this year? Chicago. Guess what Cook counties stance on gun control is? What happened to Miami when the pulled restrictions on gun ownership in public housing? Hey you can't own guns in DC and guess what its crime rate is? Los Angeles? How do you think its crime rates fares with ATL? The belief that bans on guns are a ban on violence is retarded. The statistics are in my favor.

dude...i'm on the side of CWPs and guns. i carry anytime i am not going to/from base. i dont need a lecture on inner city crime rates, but when you lump America as a whole into a debate, you have to take the good w/ the bad.

True I did make a blanket statement, I still think America is still one of the safest country in the world. Unfortunately we have some highly concentrated parts that kind of skew the statistics.

Back on topic, I wonder how this is working out for Mexico? You think it is helping with the crime rate there? Or are the good people of Mexico unarmed and left defenseless against the bad?

This is a very hard topic to win with "facts". Seeing as there are actual courses in our colleges that have to do with "How to lie with statistics'.

The overall crime rates quoted above are very interesting.... It is specifically "Reported" Crime rate. Not actual and not violent crime rate... It makes no difference wether the crime was "Smoking Marijauna"

To give an example US vs Canada
    According to:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:World-cannabis-laws.png
shows that marijuana use is largely unenforced in Canada... and it is overly enforced in the US. So how do you compare (*the crime rates of) two countries that legalize and enforce the same behavior differently?

I don't know as I would trust this graph (*anyway). Is Canada more dangerous than the US? According to the crime graph Canada has just less than 1/5 the total crime of the US. Canada has a little over 1/10 of the U.S. population. So they are twice as dangerous as the US / capita?

My opinion is that we are actually safer, but we create and enforce some laws to sustain lucrative businesses like prisons, war on drugs, pharmaceutical companys. They don't work, but the laws sure make these businesses more profitable than they would be without the laws.

Last thought... Felons(even non-violent ones) are a category that according to our Supreme Court legitimately should be denied guns.

Yes but it does not take into account what is a crime and where it isn't a crime. Lots of variables being left out.
