I would never give them up. Don't know how far they would really want to push it, but if it came to it I guess we are going to fight over them. If it was a law that was public and we had time to prepare for the law, then they would never find them. They would all get "stolen" as the new law passed. If they just show up with a truck and demand them, then the story changes. I don't think the government would ever be that stupid. They are going to try to ban all new gun sales before they ever try to take them away. That will be the time when people really revolt and retake this country. I think they know this, and they aren't that dumb. Yet.

I own quite a few guns.
Do I carry one every where I go? Hell no.
Do I love to hunt? Hell Yes
Do I keep a gun in the night stand "just in case"? Hell Yes
Is anybody going to come get them? Hell No

I don't need to carry a gun to go to WalMart or Albertsons. I don't need to carry a gun to Disneyland.

I keep guns for two reasons....hunting and home defense. Now if I travel to a big city by truck, I'll take a pistol...but other than that, my guns do not leave the locked closet they are in.

America is a place of choices....if you want to own a gun......own one.....if you don't...don't buy one....but don't stick your nose in what I want to own.

Some people take firearms way to seriously. They have an arsenal in their home. Give me a break. Alot of those people arent right in the head. They think they have the ability and talent to defend themselves against the world. They think that if faced in the situation, they would walk through it like Rambo. You arent bullet proof. Also FYI, you look like an ass walking around in camo pants at the food store. Can anyone explain that to me? I would hand mine over without a fight. Firearms are bad. There are to many irresponsible people out there. And there are alot of people who think they are, but really arent. And for those that would seriously die over an inanimate object, so be it. That is just one way to trim down the herd. And for the home defense story, the intelligent thinking would be to find ways to keep someone out, and not deal with them when they are in. Does anyone know what percentage of homeowners were actually faced in a life/death situation in their own home? Something tells me I have as much of a chance as winning the lottery.

The kids at virgina tech didn't think they'd get shot up when they went to school, but they did. Same goes for any other public shooting in recent years. I've had people try to break into my home when I was a kid. I've also lived through things most people wouldn't dream of. Continue to take chances with your life, you will be the one who gets trimmed out of the heard. Because when things go wrong, as they often do, I will still be around because I can put two rounds in some ones thoracic cavity before you can say "statistically this isn't supposed to happen to me"

Its interesting that you used VT as an example as to how you would be able to react to the situation. I recall seeing on one of the Prime Time news shows how they created a similar scenarion to VT. They pulled a number of students into the situation, but they did not know there were other students involved. They thought they were the only ones who were armed. They informed that at some point in time an individual would be entering into their classroom and would open fire. So the time comes. An adult walks in on the class and opens fire. There were about 5 students who were armed. They were all taken out. None of them could react in time. Their minds were elsewhere.

So all you give-ups should just go ahead and give me your guns. That way I can save the government the trouble. Let's just say I'll be doing my civic duty for the day.;)

I wouldn't shoot everyone that came to get them, but I'd definitely stash a few.

I can't speak for whoever the news tested, but I've been been ambushed at uncomfortably close distances before, and I am still alive.

Sommon shud tak this keebord frum mi cuz it cawzes mispelt werdz.

    Other points.......

    1. It will never happen. (Ask England)
    2. Canadians view us a an unsafe country (which is why we had to tighten border security with this peaceful neighbor. They do such a great job up there)
    3. Guns can be used in self defense without a shot being fired or a police report being filed.
    4. When I went to high school, many carried knives openly. Guns in our gun racks out in the parking lot. We even shot real bows in gym class. In my time as well as my sister's time there (eight years) there were no shootings or knife attacks on school property or events. Hmmmm. Now if I carry a pocket knife onto school grounds I can be arrested?
    5. Preparation for violence does not indicate a love of violence. Instead, the careful study of violence can lead to an increased ability to maintain peace.
    6. A trained, expert fighter can both take and save a life. Their own or another's. So can a doctor or a "spiritual leader".

I really want to know how many of you think the government will try to take your guns? I own a gun or 2 but does anybody really think Obama is after your guns?

Also let me second what notavirg said.
