When I first installed mine it looked dead level. Now it has a verrrrrrry slight rake to it (visual)... but I feel it's less than factory rake. I think last time I measured it, it's still almost an inch difference between front and rear but visually it doesn't look that way. Don't let the numbers fool you (or your eyes)....sometimes what you see on paper is not nearly as noticeable from the visual aspect. Could be based on body lines, the way the truck is styled, slightly off level ground...etc

I didn't notice it on my truck but when I measured I think I saw a .25" delta from pax to driver side.

Some factors that probably play into it such as full tank of gas, weight of driver, slightly off level ground etc.

Is it a better idea to get longer springs for the 6112? See ppl mention that they use old man emu springs that are longer to get the lift. This way you don't have too much preload on the Bilstein spring. Any truth to this?

$1000 setup...would you swap FOX, KING
I hadnt heard anyone do this on 6112...but I'd liken it to doing the same on a pair of KINGS, FOX, etc.

Big thanks for the write up @smitty99.

I used it this past weekend to install the 6112s and a pair of OME EL095R Dakars. Set the fronts at 4/5 and ended up w/ ~1.5" of rake, which is exactly where I wanted to be.

No instructions included but pretty self-explanatory and per Wheelers "...compress the lock washers that come as part of the hardware.."

I've got 12K miles on the same Bilstein setup and feel like I should have just bought the 5100's. The 6112's are definitely beefy and the ride is noticeably stiff. It only rode like a Cadillac on the way to the dump when I loaded the bed up with demo'd ceramic floor tiles!!

It's probably those tires or did you max out the 6112s? Something does not sound right. The 5100s are stiffer than 6112s and the 6112s are better shocks. My truck does not ride harsh at all with 6112s but I'm stock tires and only 1.5" lift.

It's just a stiffer suspension than the TRD Bilstein's that came on the truck. I knew this but after 12K miles, I wish the ride was a tad softer and/or I could adjust the shocks. Mine came set at #4. Gave me about 1.5" all around.

How did you get 2.5" of lift from a shock/spring combo designed for 2" max.

I was in the process of fixing the typo.
#4 gave me about 1.5" all around.

Well, I'm going to have to renege on my statement that the Bilstein's 6112/5160 combo gave me 1.5" all around. This is NOT a true statement, I MADE A MISTAKE. :notsure:
Like I said, I installed the 6112/5160 Bilstein's 12,000 miles ago with the HeadStrong progressive 3 leaf add-a-leaf. I left out the Toyota OEM overload leaf and the front shocks were set by Headstrong at setting #4. I really don't know where they're getting their springs from but I think they may be from Eibach.

Here's the measurements I had PRIOR to the installation with the factory, OEM TRD shock/spring combo at 40,000 miles. The measurements were from the precise center of the hub to the bottom edge of the fender. I measured three times!!! These are the measurements I got from MY truck, your measurements my vary...

FACTORY OEM TRD MEASUREMENTS AT 40,000 MILES:

    Front left: 19 3/4" Front right: 20 1/4"
    Rear left : 20 3/4" Rear right: 21 1/2"

    BILSTEIN 6112/5160 w/ 3 LEAF ADD-A-LEAF
    12,000 MILES LATER:

    Front left: 22 3/4" Front right: 22 3/4"
Rear left: 22" Rear right: 23"

That's a GAIN of 3" to the front left and 2.5" to the front right as well as 1 1/4" and 1 1/2" to the rears. Once again, this is setting #4 for the front shocks.

Weird numbers, I know! Regardless of the initial measurements, the front is sitting even but the rear has the "taco lean".

I welcome anyone to come meet me in the Ventura County/San Fernando Valley area to personally measure all they want and to test drive my truck as they see fit !!!

This is for a 2nd Gen Tacoma? The write up is for 3rd gen Tacoma. Dumb question but did you use the correct part #s for the 2nd gen?

I have the 2nd Gen. (2014) Maybe that's the difference? I wonder if the front springs have anything to do with it. I bought them via telephone from Headstrong Off Road. They verified the make/model of the vehicle I was putting the shocks on. I don't think they gave me the wrong stuff.

Interesting measurements, My rear is almost exactly the same as your lifted springs already (new factory recall leaf packs) I'm looking closely at getting the same front setup as you (when funds allow) Have you measured droop distance? Wondering about increased travel with that setup.
