Thinking about switching up my 2nd gen coilovers to,6112s. Since 3rd gen oem takeoffs are reported to add 1" lift to 2nd gens I wonder if the 3rd gen specific 6112s might be a better choice to achieve 2.5" since I won't have to compress the spring as much since they are, I suspect, already 1 inch taller than the 2nd gen specific 6112s. My thinking is that by using the highest 5/6 circlip on any bilstien compromises the performance/range. Thoughts?

Are new bump stops really necessary with this setup? How about extended brake lines?

I have bump stops, i think they are necessary to help over flex. Because of the mid lift, I did not add extended lines, but might at some point. Keeping an eye on it.

What are some good bump stops for this setup?

Just curious how you are liking the 6112’s? I have a DCLB and thinking about this suspension setup with medium Dakar’s and 5160’s out back. Did you also do the ECGS bearing as well Thanks!!!

I can’t seem to get 6112s anywhere for my 3rd gen. I have been told I can use the 2nd gen but something in me doesn’t feel right about getting a 2nd when bilstein produces a 3rd gen set. Almost thinking I may go 5100 series with coils, but would really prefer not to. Does ANYONE know a 6112 hookup?? :fingerscrossed:

It's been like that almost 2 months now... No one had a definite answer when I asked about ETA. If you're patient, wait a bit longer.

I seem to remember people reporting that running the 2nd gen 6112s on a 3rd gen resulted in a slightly softer ride than the 3rd gen 6112s, which some considered to be a good thing. Hopefully someone else can chime in and tell me if I'm remembering this correctly.

When I went 6112 on my 2015 T4R, they were out of stock and took almost 4 months to come in. Not sure why Bilstein has these issues, but it seems to happen too frequently.
